Introduction
Business power is the strength behind an entity to push it to action (Wolseley 5).The power can be legitimate, economic, political cultural environmental or individual. Organizations ability to create, possess and use the power enables the business competes and achieve its goals. Any entity to be successive in the business world, it has to scan it environment and put in place strategies to enable it maneuver its way defeat it competitors and place it-self in a more potent state to maximize its potentials. Today, every business has to be alert on emerging issues likely to affect its operations. These include technological changes, employee development, ethical issues, business process engineering, business communication, e-business and employee protection and niche penetration.

In 1990, Patrick Riley joined hands with Nico de Beer having an idea to manufacture led bathrooms for retail (Wolseley 11). The niche targeted individual homeowners instead of depending on the supply chain. Idea aimed at maximizing individual power over potential customers. Emphasis on quality products was a major area to win potential clients. Barthstore published a catalogue in which it featured all its products.
Wolseley Plc, a company that that produce plumb center and build center, acquired Bathstore and rapidly expanded its operations. In 2006, the company launched a television campaign targeting the middle class home-owners.one year later the company used computer-generated image to advertise its products winning Retail week’s award. Nick Nearchour, the CEO has successively led to establishment 170 showrooms in UK as a strategy to increase its sales by 2007. The company outsourced its supply services to DHL Supply Chain.
Mid 2012, Endless LLP acquired Barthstore from Wolseley and invested capital worth £ 11 million for further expansion of its warehouses and initiation of e-commerce. Through e-commerce, the company was able to increase its market share from 32% to 44.3%. In 2014, the company had expanded its workforce to 500 in the UK (Wolseley 27).

Business power is essential to the organization’s development. The power can be legitimate, economic, political cultural environmental or individual. Therefore, every business has to be alert on emerging issues likely to affect its operations.
