1. There are several factors that contribute to educational inequalities. Educational structure is one of these factors. A country’s structure of the education process determines the school fees payable. In a system where the poor are not catered for, they may end up suffering at the expense of the rich. Governments ought to ensure that there are in place valid structures for education to promote equality.
The beliefs of the teachers and the administrators play a major role in determining the level of education in the society. A teacher might be of the opinion that girls should not be treated equally with a boy. If his is the case, then educational inequality will be promoted. This is similar to the beliefs of the administrators because they implement the learning process.
Over the years, educational practices have also led to the inequalities in education. At some points, the teachers and administrators prefer students who are sharp in certain subjects at the expense of others. This makes the slow-learning students to give up in their attempts to become better members of the society. From this, discrimination arises, leading to educational inequalities. Schools should admit students with various educational backgrounds and treat them equally without any discrimination.
Schools which offer English only programs also mean that students who are not comfortable in English will be discriminated upon. In such cases, the schools tend to prefer studens who are comfortable in English. This means that who do not find English as their preferred language cannot be admitted. This is a major source of inequality as it leads to discrimination in the school setting
2. The value of a child’s life is based on the development process. The orientation children are given while they are young is essential in determining who they will become in their future lives. Early education that the children are given plays a big role in shaping the attitude they develop in their entire lifetime. Children who are raised in a background where education is valued often grow to appreciate the importance of education in the society. On the other hand, students who grow in backgrounds where education is not valued end up failing to appreciate education
There are several things that we do to children who start mourning before their time. For instance, comforting them and giving them every reason as to why they should not mourn will calm them down. As a caregiver, the primary role is to ensure that children are comfortable in every position they are in. Without this, they may never appreciate the efforts of the caregiver.
Those who are defined by the society as being superfluous should be closely monitored to act as role models in the society. This way, the society will be lifted. The society has to come up with a system where children are encouraged to emulate those who are considered to be successful. This is the only way that the society can improve. N the other hand, those with unwanted behaviors should never be emulated.
3. In instituting a 5-year Multicultural training program, a lot of advice is needed, especially about adapting academic instructions for students from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The teachers ought to understand that different ethnic backgrounds have different beliefs. As such, there is need to constitute a common guide which will be applied to all children. Various backgrounds have different cultural and ethnic practices. The teachers should take this into account and ensure that the programs they implement capture this.
4. Educators can become part of the solution in the society through various ways. A good way through which they can take part is through educating the students on the expected norms in the society. Through such education, the students will grow morally upright, ensuring tolerance and respect are maintained in the society. A society where education is valued is likely to see a generation whereby the students grow morally upright. Education is the only factor that can change the society.
5. It is important to distinguish a language difference from a disorder. In doing so, the teacher should take into account that a disorder ought to be present in the native language of the child and English. Second, the teacher should test in the native language and in English to determine the level the student is in. After this, it is important to assess the language through a number of speaking contexts. This will give the teacher an opportunity to establish error patterns after describing these patterns in language usage. These guidelines are necessary.
6. Sharing power in a school across all ethnic groups, races, genders, disability groups among other groups would present a number of challenges. Representation of the past and the future would be almost impossible as here would be conflicting interests in the management and administration sector. Another problem would arise in determining the narratives that should be passed to the children. Every group has a preference, making it impossible to combine all groups. There would also be a problem of coming up with the relevant teachers who would serve the students and children equally.
