Are Today's Immigrants Assimilating Into U.S. Society?
The united state of America is a home of numerous immigrants from all over the world. Apparently, the society is made up of different culture as history describes. The Native Americans are few, the many immigrants who settled in the country many years ago thus seem to be the originals.they assimilated the way of living, which made them comfortable in their new settlement area, overwhelm them. This migration has not reduced, as statistics shows, the population of immigrants in the United States of America increase with days (Alba, and Victor 123).
There are several reasons, which stimulate citizens from other countries to migrate to the united state of America. there have been complains on the other hand that those migrating to the united states of America are finding it difficult to assimilate as well as adopt the American culture. However, some researches have dismissed this misconception. In the new research, the new immigrants are settling fast and adopting the American culture faster than immigrants from in other countries (Alba, and Victor 123). There are several reasons why the immigrants find it easy to assimilate the American culture and norms. However, in some instances, immigrates fins it difficult to assimilate the culture. This is because of some reasons such as religion and background. Although they take time, they finally assimilate the culture and live in America peacefully (Alba, and Victor 123).
Citizens from other countries are very much interested in being American citizens. Numerous foreigners fill the green card forms to obtain the citizen ship. This is a clear indication that the American has good qualities, which are desired by other countries citizens (Hayes 234). According to statistics, American green card holds the highest population and competition. There are several reasons why other countries citizens wish to become American citizens. Some of them include financial security, high standard of living, and quality education, feed backs, political stability, need to change the environment and finally seek for a soul mate in the United States of America (Hayes 234).
United States of America is a superpower in the world. It holds a big economy, which assures its citizen a financially secure future. One of the main reasons why people immigrate is to search for good endeavors in terms of finance. The united states of America offer such an environment thus attracting numerous immigrants. In the United States of America, there are numerous business opportunities and job opportunities. On the other hand, the jobs offer good remunerations thus good life styles. This is a major reason why there are many immigrants in the United States of America.
It is everybody’s wish to lead a life of high standards. The definition of a high standard of living depends on the environment. It is a unit of comparison thus the better the environment the higher the standard of living. America being an economic giant, it holds high standard of living even for the common citizens. The American high standard of living is enhanced by several factors. There are many outlets to enjoy and have fan for common citizens. On the other hand, America has opportunities, which ensures one career is developed to the peak. This makes the citizens enjoy the public resources to lead a high standard of living. For this reason, many people strive to immigrate to the United States of America with the prospects of leading a high standard life.
Education is another important aspect of life. Due to the development of technology and invention, it is becoming essential to educate and expose oneself to the current innovations. Education is offered in almost every country. However, each country posses a different form of education as compared to the other countries. The different forms of education still on the other hand have different qualities. The countries education also differ intermesh of resources and exposure. The United States of America is a centre of invention. For this reason, it has the best resources and exposure as far as education is concerned. It is a home of several top rated educational institutions in the world. This fact attracts numerous immigrants in search of quality education.
As mentioned earlier in the essay, immigration to America started since time memorial. America is made up of as many cultures as the ones existing in the world. For this reason, there arises another reason why there are numerous immigrations to the United States of America. Once a member of a certain family or country migrates to America, he or she finds the best life in her or his destination. What follow is messages praising the new settlement area. This makes those left behind strive to migrate to the same environment to experience a better life like their colleague. This start of series contributed heavily to the numerous immigrations to the United States of America.
Many countries and states in the world have been face by the conflicts based on politics. Political instability is one of the major contributors of civil wars and insecurity. The situation in search countries is not well placed for settlement and human activities. The United States of America has for a long time known for the political discipline. The constitution in America ensures that politics is always clean and is not a source of conflict. For this reason, it creates a suitable environment for human settlement and activities. Political stability in America has contributed to the numerous immigrants joining the country each day.
A change is as good as a rest. This is a saying supporting one of the reasons why some people migrate to other countries. They need to change the environment and the personalities around them. Most people especially those who had conflict with their friends or family will migrate in search of new environment where they can probably start all over again thus time warned not to make the same mistakes. This reason see them applying migration forms where due to other mentioned reasons, they prefer the United States of America. For this reason, there is a high immigration population entering the United States of America (Banks, and Cherry 288).
The other reason why people immigrate to the United States of America is search of soul mates. This reason sees citizens from other countries migrate to America and settle there. The above-mentioned reasons are the major stimulator, which makes people, migrates to America (Banks, and Cherry 288). The same reason makes them feel comfortable in their new environment thus assimilation faster. There are other reasons, which now stimulate faster assimilation to the American society. Some of them include diversity in cultures, fulfillment of expectations, chain immigrations and mass assimilations (Banks, and Cherry 288).
In the United States of America, there is diversity of culture. This reason makes it seem right to do anything provided it is acceptable by the rule of law. It is difficult to identify a specific main culture in the United States of America. On the same aspect, the different cultures have different ways of doing their activities (Pakenham, 104). When the immigrant joins the country, they continue practicing their cultures. Although they are different in one way or the other, there are no chances of disputing any one culture. This contributes to the quick adoption of immigrant into the American society, which is a mixture of cultures.
There is a reason why each of the individual who migrate to America does so. Most of the immigrant’s wishes and expectation are fulfilled after immigration. This fact makes the immigrants comfortable in the United States of America (Pakenham, 104). Take for example and individual who migrates to America in search of a job. In return, he or she finds a well paying job in his or her line of a carreer.this factor makes the life of the individual as those who have lived in American for decades. Fulfillments of the wish or expactition contribute to individuals’ assimilation g the new society way of living very fast.
Immigration to America has been on the rise in the last several decades. This contributes to the chain immigration. This implies that the people migrating to the American county ends up being from the same society (Pakenham, 104). In many cases, people from the same family will find themselves in America as a result of chain migration. As much as this influences many people to migrate to America, it also helps the assimilated the society faster. Take an example of people from the same family migration to America at intervals of one year. They will assist the new migrants to transit from their original society to the latter faster (Banks, and Cherry 288)
.
The American government also plays a key role in assisting new immigrants to assimilate the American society. This is through educating them the basic societal skills in Americas. The government trains new immigrants on issues concerning the national language, rule of law and the education systems as well as settlement systems. This contributes to the new immigrants having enough knowledge to settle and assimilate into the new society easily and faster (LeMay 36).
Basing an argument on the above-discussed factors, it is a simple and fast process to assimilate into the American society. This is because of the good environment and culture in America. However, there are obstacles, which resist the easy process of assimilation. Some of these factors include religious discrimination, racial discrimination and economic class discrimination (LeMay 36). In the United States of America, Christianity has roots taking up bigger percentages of the population. For this reason, the Muslim community and other religions finds it difficult to assimilate into the American society. On the same note, the racial discrimination against the black also makes it hard for the blacks to settle and assimilate the new society. Finally, the economic class is another reason why the new Immigrants find it difficult to assimilate in the American society.
Immigration in America is a common issue. It has been on the practice since time memorial. It is contributed by several factors as mention in the essay. Once the immigrants get to America, they take a short time before they assimilate and adopt the new society. However due to some reason, some communities finds it difficult to assimilate in the new American society (LeMay 36).
