Finally, when the results of the startup procedure come out they are termed as term sheets that depict an investor(s) an interest in providing the entrepreneur with funds for the business. Cat Zakrzewski, the author of “DataTribe Launches To Back Entrepreneurs Leaving Government Roles” develops the art of making a business deal and the importance of term sheets in entrepreneurial finance. According to Zakrzewski (2016), very few individuals who desire to venture into the world of entrepreneurship are aware of the value or meaning of a term sheet. The article expounds on the role that the entrepreneur and investor play in starting up a business. The investor in the excerpt is the DataTribe Inc. that wants to assist engineers working with the government to formulate their own big data and cyber-security corporations. In such a situation, the engineers who are the potential entrepreneurs without a background of business or financial knowledge do not know the importance of a term sheet or the appropriate ways of executing an entrepreneurial deal (Zakrzewski, 2016).
The article is inspiring because it portrays a company that is interested in securing the best interests of the entrepreneurs by educating them about the fundamentals of a term sheet and a business deal. Unethical investors or firms in such a circumstance could have chosen to explore the ignorant entrepreneurs to tap into the profits of their business ideas. However, by teaching the individuals, the investors secure their money and the future of the potential companies to derive long-term benefits. It is also interesting to see the company (DataTribe) giving the engineers’ an opportunity to develop their abilities and talents (Zakrzewski, 2016).
