Introduction
Ethics is a significant concept that guides organizations to conduct their businesses in a moral manner. In this paper, an ethical approach will be undertaken with the company that will be established in this process. This paper will focus on company framework that will help in conducting business in an ethical perspective.
Binary Concepts Inc.,
The company name is ethical in that it is unique and does not steal any company’s copyright. Also, the name does not sound to be offensive in terms of public good.
Company logo
The logo befits the company that I am creating because of the message and the information that is being sent. The company logo shows that there is understanding of the business. The B and C stand for Binary Concepts. The 1 and 0 stand for binary, which is ones and zeros. It is ethical because of the infringement issues. There is no infringement of information in the entire creation of the company information. It is ethical because it is unique and does not use any other company’s information. It also is accepted images that can be shown in the society.
Company Mission
The missing of the company will be to provide IT consultancy services to companies with keen interest on trend and competitive advantage.
The mission is ethical in this perspective because what the company will be doing is accepted in the society and the country at large. It is acceptable to have consultancy services. It follows the requirements of business. It is a legal business and thus making the mission ethical to use.
Company profile
Binary Concepts, Inc., will provide consultancy services to organizations. It will be tasked with ensuring that companies can use the right technologies in order to solve the problems that they might be facing. The consultancy will ensure that it does research about the latest technologies and the strategies that will enable companies to face the competition and have a competitive advantage. The services will include developing strategic plans for companies and developing networks for companies.
The company undertakes in ethical activities. The activity of giving legal advice to businesses is accepted in the country. Also, the activities that the company deals with are acceptable to the public and does not infringe anyone’s rights. It is important to understand the effects that activities of a given company has in the world. The company also gives advice and strategic plans for company networks that are important assets when information flow and company access is considered. All these are ethical to other businesses and to the public.
The ethical code of ethics will be derived from IEEE that is a company that deals with technology advice and strategic management and development. The ethical code of standards that will be followed in the company will include:
- We will strive to be honest and be real when making estimates of costs that will be charged to the clients.
The code of ethics that out company will seek to achieve flows the ethical requirements that are a requirement for our company. It is one of the most important development of the company and it is fair to have these practices in the development of the company. In terms of practice, there is an ethical requirement and standard where we have decided that we be going to do what is acceptable and what is fair to our clients and all parties who are interested. The code of ethics has also helped in developing a good business process and will ensure that the company will develop the requirements and the issues that are in place in the company. It is one of the requirements that will help to ensure that there are fair practices in the company (Ferrell, & Fraedrich, 2014).
The issue of management has also been included in the code of ethics. There is the part where employees and colleagues will be helped in their professional development. It means that the workers and the colleagues will be able to leave in a safe and secure environment.
Ethical training of employees
There will be an ethical training of employees within the company. The training will entail the way employees will be required to conduct while they are at work. It is significant to understand the business processes and standards observed. All employee will be taught on how to behave towards their colleagues. They will have to understand the ethical behavior that will be useful in ensuring a cohesive behavior in the workplace.
Employees will undergo training to cover how to relate with the community. It will enable employees to respect and ensure that the community will benefit from the business that is being done.
Employees will also be taught on how to handle the clients. They will be taught on ethical standards that will govern the way they interact with the clients. This interaction is an important one because it will determine how these clients will relate with the company.
The training will occurs after every year. In case there are changes that might occur mid of the year, there will be a brief training session that will highlight the new changes and how the new changes will affect the other ethical standards in place (Valentine et al., 2011).
The training will impact on the salary of employees because from the training, employees will be able to understand what is required of them. For the employees who will work like they have been told, they will increase their chances of getting promotions and will have their salaries increased.
Other forms, contracts and policies
There will be other policies and procedures that will be used in the company. These forms and policies will help the company in the enhancement and the management of their daily procedures and operations. They are listed in the section below:
- Confidentiality agreement with employees – it is a policy agreement that is set by the company and will assist the employees to keep information that are considered to be propriety private.
- Employee Non-compete agreement – it is a policy requirement that will ensure that the employee will not set out to do similar business with the employer.
- Promissory note contract – it is a contract that will help my company and some client to help in paying some money at a future date.
- Month to month lease agreement – it is a contract that will be filled by the company with the landlord regarding the premises that the company will have rented.
- License agreement – it is a contract agreement that enables the company to own the name of the business and do a trade that it has registered that it will undertake.
- Acceptable use policy – in the course of undertaking the business, there will be the monitoring process of the business. Employees will be monitored on the way they communicate and will ensure that there is better management and enhancement of the
Ethical case study
In the ethical case, the chief information technologist has left Binary Concepts, Inc., and worked with Digital Systems Ltd. The two companies are in the same industry and do the same trade. There are some vital documents that the employee went with. These documents include a list of customers, mission statement of the company, accounting and sales documentation, and the internal memo on the targets that I made some time ago. These are serious documents that will affect the operation of the company.
There is the ethical theory of deontology which has been broken in the situation that is presented. In the ethical theory of deontology, there is a need to fulfill duties to fulfill the company and other people. In the case, the employee has broken this theory and has violated the ethical theory in this case.
Conclusion
Ethics is a significant component in any business. When forming a company, it is prudent to have ethical standards and measures that will ensure that there is an understanding of the ethical standards by all stakeholders. It will be needed of them in working in the company. Ethical code of standards is one of the documents that has been assumed because of the expectations that is required by employers. The expectation to be loyal to the employer is something that has been known to be acceptable and universal. It is no wonder that most employees will ensure that there is better undertaking of business processes in an ethical manner. It is important ensure training of employees in order to be conversant with the standards and ethical standards required.
