Question No: 1
The analysis of the case of tiger advertising suggests that with there are some diversity and some similarities in the workforce of tiger advertising, of the seven members who compose these three have been with the company since its inception. The four newer members are much younger and came to the company more recently in response to firms rapid growth the difference were in their age, company tenures, functional and industrial background. However, there were also similarities in their skills that all of them were businesslike, analytical; hand driving and result focused, as all the team members belong to the different background, so diversity makes the people of different areas interact with each other at the same platform. The different kind of people will bring different sort of ideas to the company that will increase the performance of the company, and we came to know that how to work in a group with different people. So this diversity is very helpful in increasing performance of the company. When the ideas of different people from different places will meet it will result in a master plan that will help a lot in increasing the profit of the company (Colquitt, Lepine and Wesson, 2011 p. 356)
Question No: 2
As in the Tiger Advertising Company workers work in groups of three to four persons that are headed by a senior employee who makes the final decision after receiving input from the members. When so many people work together, each member has different views about different situations, and the senior employee has to give value to the decision of every person in the group. So sometimes to maintain harmony in his group, he may make a decision that may be irrational which leads to groupthink. This groupthink is problematic to the company in such a way that irrational decisions may lead to the decline of the company and may affect its performance (Colquitt, Lepine and Wesson, 2011 p. 359). The basic thing in the development of the company is proper decision making so if that will not happen properly; it will lead to the downfall of the company. This problem can be corrected by focusing more on the performance of the company rather than on promoting harmony among groups. Instead of this harmony should be promoted on an organizational level. It will increase the performance of the company and will create a better image of the company in the market, which leads to positive word of mouth and will increase the number of customers for the company.
Question No: 3
Some of the primary sources of stress that creative associates were facing in tiger advertising are uncertainty and pressure because of this the work environment is filled with so much pressure. The associates were also facing the problem of time; the company had flexible timings it calls the employees for work whenever they want. They do not have any proper timing these two things were favorable for some of the employees who can easily work in a stress situation. They said it as helpful for them as they learned how to tackle with stress and this increased the performance of the company very rapidly. However, for the employees for whom it is difficult to work in a stress situation, this factor was unfavorable (Greenberg and Colquitt, 2013).
Some of the employees who had no issue with this timing factor enjoy these timings because there were no restrictions for them they can come whenever they want and can leave after completing their work hours. However, some employees had an issue with this time factor who cannot come late at night due to their family responsibilities. They have to give proper time to their families along with the job. So these two stress factors were helpful for some of the employees and, in the same manner, harmful for the other ones (Colquitt, Lepine and Wesson, 2011)
Question No 4:
Yes, according to our analysis, Tiger Advertising Company needs some changes in its policies and practices that will improve its performance in future. My three recommendations are:
As in past, the work situation of tiger advertising was full of pressure, which affects a lot the performance of employees. So the first goal to increase the performance of the company is to let the employees work in a pressure-free situation. It will increase their performance of the company.
The Tiger Advertising has a high employee turnover rate. Therefore, the second goal of tiger advertising is to reduce the employee turnover rate by offering the employees some extra benefit. It will increase the cost of the company. However, this cost is far less than the cost of hiring and training a new employee to perform a job role.
Previously tigers advertising’s main focus was improving its reputation it was not increasing its scale of profit. So another goal will be to give some attention to profits along with reputation because in future if you will not be able to fulfill the needs of customers they will not remain loyal to you and the situation will not be win-win
