CC1: Variables in the five management systems of the experiment and their Relations
The experiment that was carried out displayed different variables, and they include the first system which is traditional management that entails not adopting new ideas and instead the system continues with the old ways of doing things without having the employees participate. The variable in this case is the experience of the people working in the organization who repetitively tackles the same activities over time and therefore perfecting in them. The experience of the people in this case links up with program IV which provides the job satisfaction that has the employees concentrating on their jobs without the need of accessing other unrelated information for their work. Program II seeks to track data on the absence and sick leave of the employees, and then gives them feedback on the aspects that they can control. variables in such case involves the absenteeism of the employees since they do not report to work, and this is an aspect that relates to factors such as the lack of job satisfaction from Program I whose other characteristics involves the lack of motivation within the workplace and the personality of the employees that may not be matching the organizational values and needs.
Program III from the experiment comprises of tracking the sales and the rates of inventory replacement then sharing the information to employees, and the variable in this case is the turnover of the organization because such information can be used to design the strategies and programs that might be used to increase the productivity of the company. The turnover in the organization links with program IV which provides the job satisfaction of the employees and this is a crucial factor because when the employees have satisfaction on their jobs, then more productivity is attained. Program IV comprises of a system that has the managers brainstorming with the employees on ways of improving the performance of the organization, and this is an important aspect as it displays a good leadership style which relates to program V that provides greater motivation within the employees, greater job satisfaction as the employees will have a sense of purpose in their work and higher turnover. Program V is a management system that involves brainstorming but does not provide other information, and this is an indication of the organizational commitment to meeting their goals which is an important aspect as it links to program IV whose variables include higher productivity, motivating the employees and helping them to attain experience in their jobs.
CC-8: Changing nature of the workforce and the economy
The changing nature of the workforce requires the management to strive and continually change the attitudes of the employees as it directly affects the customers and growth of the company. Practices that will bring about the job satisfaction for the employees such as the job security and workers contribution in decision making would help in changing their attitudes and in turn help to meet the needs of the organization. The changes carried out would involved the employees being assigned specific tasks of their specialty that they undertake since they are competent in them, the motivation of workers by paying them on their extra working hours, giving the employees training programs that will sharpen their skills, providing them with bonuses and opportunities of promotion after reviewing their work performance with time. These processes are important for the changing nature of the economy and workforce because they help increase the turnover rates of the company, increase sales and profit along with increasing the employee productivity.
Some changes within the organization can lead to difficulties being experienced, and these changes include practices such as downsizing of the employees due to budget cuts. It is important that such changes are managed well within the organization so as to allow their continued operation, and the management process will involve activities such as the participation of more experienced workforce to help attain more efficiency in the activities within the organization because the more experienced people are the ones who know the way different activities in the organization are undertaken along with the other effective ways of carrying out the varied processes in the organization that would lead to higher productivity. The experienced workforce are also important in ensuring that the organization attains sustainability in their activities because they can be able to teach the younger employees on the way to undertake different production activities.
The management of the organization should help in adapting to the required changes that will continue keeping the organization competitive. The changes are the necessary aspects for the organization’s growth and survival, and thus it is important that the organization makes the employees aware of its importance. The resistance to change can work against the goals and vision of the organization, and therefore the organization can overcome such resistance to change by applying methods such as educating the employees and communicating to them the required processes that they should adopt to attain the required change, and then building support and commitment of the employees as they are involved in different processes being undertaken in the organization. The organization should also built good relations with the employees, and work with those who accept change as they gradually implement them to fit the required strategic changes that are meant to be implemented within the organization.
Recommendations
Employees in the organization should continuously be motivated as a way of continuously attaining productivity and profitability in the activities that they undertake for the organization. The leadership of the organization should be responsible in ensuring that employees are continuously motivated, and such practices can be attained through activities such as rewarding the outstanding employees, giving them a sense of purpose in their daily work routines and providing them with promotional opportunities that will encourage them to do well in their work.
The older workers can be used to mentor the younger employees as a way of helping to attain sustainability for the organization. The organization should therefore be able to come up with measures that they can apply on their work strategy as a way of attaining a sustainable workforce and activities within the organization that would ensure the organization runs in the future longer period of time. The sustainability in the organization can be attained through processes like having the experienced workforce teaching the new employees on the way different activities are undertaken within the organization as this will ensure that the future activities of the organization are run effectively. The organization should also employ diversity for their workforce as a way of ensuring that the employees continuously get exposed to the new ideas and challenges that will motivate them through their work activities.
