Learning, based on my readings, online discussion with other students and general observation of leadership practices in the last and this week that communication between the organization and the client is the foundation for success of any organization was a milestone achievement. I further learned that excellent service delivery to the client goes a long way in achieving customer satisfaction. This knowledge enabled me to appreciate and underscore the vital role played by information sharing between the organization and the client. The findings of the discussion shaped my view of leadership that participative leadership should be allowed to flourish in organizations. This is because it gives room for clients to make suggestions thus encouraging inclusivity and confidence of the client.
I found it exceptionally important for managers to set up rapid response systems to address the needs of clients if they are to run successful organizations. It is crucial that managers device ways of communicating with clients. A range of methods can be employed, for instance, suggestion forms, comment cards or an office where client complaints are addressed.
The knowledge I gained from my reading, general observation on leadership practices and discussion with other students will change and shape my thinking that a leader ought to embrace communication as a tool of successful leadership. As a manager, I cannot afford to separate customer satisfaction from running a profitable organization. To take a lead and walk tall, i will create an open communications platform where clients are free to channel their complaints.
I find it confusing that some managers exercise authoritarian leadership yet they run successful organizations. I seek insight from other students what they think of these managers who employ top-down communication strategies. Is it appropriate to manage organizations authoritatively sometimes?
