The planet is not only home to human beings, but also to animals and plants. For the ecosystems to survive harmoniously, everybody should play their role politically, economically, and socially. Some of the questions that each and every one should ask are; what kind of environment would they want to live for several years to come? How can an individual make the required change to make the planet a better place? What changes should be done in the way people view the planet? By answering the above questions and taking the necessary steps, more people will appreciate the world and endevour to make it a better place. There are many ways through which people’s perspectives concerning the world can change, do things differently, and change the way they see the planet as a whole. Changing the way people think starts from within an individual, then extends to the entire community.
It is crucial to understand that every simple action counts and that everyone has a duty to make little efforts or else nothing would change. There are small engagements that individuals can make to alter the manner in which people perceive the world. First, people should volunteer. People are moved by small acts of kindness. Volunteering does not have to be done on a daily basis. Finding a free time whereby one could extend a helping hand without expecting a pay would go a long way in convincing other people to do the same. Secondly, people should be involved in activities that encourage conservation like the planting of trees, embracing the world’s environmental day, and minimize pollution. Climate change takes place on a daily basis, with most of the impact being felt by flora and fauna (Lappé 126). Individuals should make an effort to plant a tree once in a while, without waiting for a particular day to do it. Once it becomes a routine for an individual, it would be easier for one to convince other people to join the practice.
Thirdly, corruption is a vice that inhibits progress. Stopping dishonesty does not take place in a single day, rather, it is a progressive process that involves the combined effort of each person. Children learn from the adults, and teaching them to do the right thing is a step towards changing the view that the planet is corrupt and only the wealthy and powerful can thrive in it. Fourthly, everyone should be a leader in their way. The people around one can easily notice his/ her efforts to change aspects of their lifestyles towards a more mindful approach to the manner in which people view the planet. It is crucial for one to take accountability for being a resident of the Earth, and not to anticipate others people to make modifications (Schut 102). Every single person needs to play their part and make considerably healthier decisions. Figuring what the right choice is not an easy process and can be time-consuming, but it worth it. Simply because the people around an individual do not care about the planet does not imply that one should give up. Everybody should lead by example.
Fifthly, people should refrain from having children because of pressure. The world is already overpopulated with individuals and animals struggling to have a share of the already limited resources (Tomkinson 213). Persons continue to breed, even when they are not confident that they would love to be parents. People should move away from the ancient way of thinking, and stop pressuring other people to bear children simply because that is what the society believes. Sixthly, people should endeavor to show some compassion. Small deeds of sympathy can do a lot in changing people thoughts about the planet. Being kind to someone forms a string of gentleness whereby whenever an individual is shown empathy, he/ she extends the same to someone, and the process continues. Everyone should thrive to be that person who shows kindheartedness to others for no reason. One could send a love message, gift someone, or tell someone how important they are. There are numerous methods to revitalize someone’s day. Additionally, one could make changes to their buying routine to support their values. Each buying that one makes should fund something. One can choose to back a big business that abuses individuals, animals, and the planet or they can purchase items from the local store and support those that need the money. Some people believe that large enterprises offer the best products, which is not always the case. In purchasing foodstuff from the farmers in one’s area, one not only supports them but also helps in reducing the demand for large enterprises that undoubtedly produce an enormous amount of waste. Going to the farmer's markets, shopping locally and having knowledge on where the foods come from solves many health challenges. Trying to change a few of what one purchases may make them better in replicating the things that they value.
Moreover, one could educate young people on the significance of handling the environs with caution and that everybody can make a difference (Miller and Spoolman 112). Failure to teach the kids that what they do directly affects the planet means that people’s mindset will certainly not change. The knowledge we pass to the young ones matters a lot, and if people do not collectively stop the actions that preceding generations practiced, the planet would be ruined. Wyoming, for instance, is predominantly horrific regarding educating youngsters regarding the impact that gas and coal manufacturing has on the environment (Perry 1). Children should be inspired to work together with the adults and involve them in any rescue determinations. The awareness of a kid is a stunning thing, and occasionally they offer answers and feel a bigger persuasion to stop prejudice than grown-ups.
Finally, persons should stop making excuses. Everyone would love to live in a clean and a peaceful planet. Nobody should expect others to make right decisions to make for their bad choices. The actions of one person impact the whole world, including the animals and plants. No animal or plant should face extension because of the greed of humans. Aldo says that everyone strives for safety, wealth, well-being, a long life, and dullness. This not only happens to the humans, as the deer struggles with agile legs to stay safe, the statesman arms himself with a pen and the cowman with snare, but all that comes down to striving for peace. Each living thing strives to survive; proof of just how important the planet is (Leopold 3).
Solutions to global disasters are in the reach of every person, and the real encounter is to free each from self-conquering thoughts and deceptions that keep people from practicing the solutions to existence. From wearing away soil to eroding fairness, a lot of what is wrong results from the manner of thinking which corresponds with the nature of humans and the decisions that they make. Humans are go-getters, but their capability for acting is undercut by thought deceptions that leave them caught up in distress, fault, and despair, not a bit of which stimulate action. From volunteering to teaching the young ones, to being responsible for one’s actions, it is clear that the gap existing between the world everyone longs for, and the world that people think are trapped in can be fixed, but only if every single individual can put an effort to reason like one ecosystem.
