Movie Review
Review on Pulp Fiction movie by Quentin Tarantino.
Pulp Fiction is a movie directed by a Quentin Tarantino who is famous for his non-standard approach that can be hardly confused with any other movies. Pulp Fiction was released in 1994 and, undoubtedly, it is the best incarnation of all Tarantino’s unusual ideas; this is the movie which brought a fresh air into the world of cinema and led to appearance of such movies as “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, “Snatch” and many other great movies which were shot in the same manner under its influence.
So, the first thing that a viewer could notice in Pulp Fiction is its non-logical structure of the plot. I am not quite sure whether this type of scenario was used by anyone else before Quentin Tarantino, but I can surely say that many other movies with similar structure appeared after Pulp Fiction.
Another great feature of this movie is the dialogues between characters. For the first look dialogues might seem absolutely absurd and inappropriate but dialogues is the exact thing that makes this film so unique and that the reason why people re-watch this movie again and again to discover something new. I really like the part where Vincent and Jules both have a discussion on topics that are not convenient to the character they playing. For example, how often do you see gangsters disputing about foot massage when they are about to kill somebody? Yes, you’re right, not so often.
And the third distinctive feature of Quentin Tarantino’s movie is presence of violence. However, in comparison to his later movies Tarantino did not reach peak of cruelty in Pulp Function, but there is still enough of cruelty and blood in the movie that might push away some viewers from watching it. Consider the scene where Vincent Vega all in blood lies in bathroom. Well, it seems to me that Quentin Tarantino uses violence just as the way of telling story.
