A worldview refers to a conception or philosophy of life that is concerned with world meaning. It is any philosophy, ideology, theology, religion, or movement that seeks to offer an overreaching approach to the way humans understand God as well as the world’s relation to God. The Christian worldview encompasses the Christian perspective through which a person views and interprets the world (Weider, 2014). It can also be interpreted as a theory that guides the way a person lives in the world. It is a mental framework of attitudes and ideas about the world. A Christian worldview is based on Christ’s teachings and word of God as presented in the Bible and Christians who embrace and use it as the foundation of everything they do or say.
Creationism is a Christian perspective which suggests that God created the world and all the living and nonliving things in it. According to biblical accounts, God initially created the heavens and the universe (Genesis 1: 1 King James Version). The biblical creation story also suggests that humanity also came into existence through God’s creation (Genesis 1: 27). Unlike the scientific theories of how life came to exist, the Creationism theory is widely based on biblical accounts of how God created the universe and everything therein. Being human means being created in God’s image. The Christian worldview suggests that humans have dignity and value to the extent that Christ himself was willing to sacrifice his life for the redemption of humans. Genesis 1 indicates that humans are unique, and unlike other animals, killing a human begin is a mortal sin.
According to the Christian worldview, humans exist to love, serve, obey, and have fellowship with God. Humans are also the stewards of the world. God created humans to take care of His creations (Genesis 2:15). The Christian perspective of morality focuses on the way God’s laws are applied in a person’s life. One of the fundamental principles of the Christian moral worldview is that individuals have an inherent dignity because all humans are created in the likeness of God (Genesis 1: 26-27). The Christian perspective of morality emphasizes on justice and fairness. Morality is closely associated with the concept of righteousness that requires followers of Christ to be righteous people.
The Bible promises and underlines that there is life after death. Christians believe in the resurrection as well as the notion that the righteous shall go to Heaven where they will live eternally (Luke 16). In his ministry on earth, the Bible tells of instances where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. The resurrection story is at the center of Christian doctrine and beliefs because Christ himself resurrected from dead and eventually ascended into the heavens where he sits on the right hand of God the Father.
Question 1:
The idea that we should do to others what we expect them to do to us influences how I speak to other individuals, treat them, and interact with them. It encompasses being kind, respectful, and polite to others because I would be happy to be treated that way. Every human has dignity because all people are created in God’s image. Jesus also commanded us to love our neighbors the way we love ourselves.
Question 3:
The scripture tells us to be stewards of the earth. I firmly believe in the integrity of non-human creations and the sustainability of the environment. As superior beings and species tasked with the responsibility of taking care of nature, I believe that on the Day of Judgment, individual will be obliged to account for the way they cared for environment.
