The paper discusses the following codes of ethics.
Hippocratic Oath:
The basic ethics of medical practice and moral code of conduct for doctors was set up by a Greek physician and philosopher Hippocrates, which is known as the Hippocratic Oath. They are said to be core principles by General Medical Council (GMC). The Hippocratic Oath can be summarized as follows.
Unity with teachers and other physicians
Of beneficence and non-maleficence towards patients.
Not to support suicide or abortion.
Do not hurt, especially not to seduce patients.
Remain confidential and never to gossip
American Association of Medical Assistance
It provides professional medical assistance with proper education, acknowledgment, opportunities, scope-of-practice protection, certification, and support for quality patient-centered health care. A certificate is given to the candidate who clears the CMA (AAMA) examination and this certificate needs recertification after every 60-month gap. It is the only program that emphasizes a lot of work in medical clinics, OPD’s, and medical offices.
Principles of Medical Ethics: American Medical Association
American Medical Association has set up a code of conduct that includes all the fundamental principles which should be followed by a physician
Skilled medical care should be provided, with respect for human dignity and rights.
Maintain professionalism, be honest and struggle to report incompetent doctors.
Obey the laws.
Respect the rights of colleagues, patients, and other professionals, and protect patient confidences and privacy under the law.
Continue to study, gain advance knowledge, remain committed to medical education, provide appropriate information to the public, patients, and colleagues and use the concern of other health professionals when required.
A physician should be in the provision of proper patient care, except in emergencies, freely choose whom to associate, serve, and the environment in which to provide medical care.
Improvement of the community and the betterment of public health should be considered
The responsibility of patient shall be considered as vital.
Access to medical care for all people should be supported.
Personal Philosophy
According to my personal philosophy that includes all the elements of belief, attitude, and ideas is the Hippocratic Oath as it contains all the basic ethical principles which should be followed in medical care. The codes play an important role in health care organizations, and it maintains the standard of the organization as well as maintains proper health of the society. There are four factors including unity, support, care, and trust in my personal code of ethics that are reflected here.
