I am interested in pursuing an internship in the Thai Service of Voice of America (VOA) located in Washington, D.C, WA. The service significantly helps to providing relevant information to Thai living in the USA and all over the world contributing thereby to their well-being and awareness. Therefore, I will be delighted to be trained in this service and to use my knowledge and skills in the information sector to help the institution attain some of its goals.
I possess an excellent language profile that can positively impact my internship. I originate from Thailand, and I am very fluent in Thai. I also speak and write English, Chinese and Japanese and my responsibility can be extended to other communities. Importantly, my educational background is relevant to the activities of VOA. I am currently completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Public Relations at Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI.
Being a member of various organizations such as the Sigma Alpha Lambda (The National Leadership and Honor organization) and performing volunteering activities for e.g. Habitat for Humanity in Thailand, have developed and reinforced interesting skills including leadership, creativity, writing, communication and multitasking capabilities that can be exploited to complete my responsibilities at VOA Thai successfully. Also, my enthusiasm, hard-working mindset and computing skills including, e.g., the use of Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Social Media and Microsoft Office tools will be beneficial in promoting the activities of the department.
The mission of VOA Thai is in line with my passions and interests, and I am ready to put the effort required to succeed in performing the tasks of this internship. I have no doubt that the training at VOA will support a successful completion of my studies and an excellent future career in the information sector and mainly Advertising.
I wish to complete the internship during the 2016 summer period from May to July or July to August according to the availability of VOA Thai. However, I am opened to any proposition that may better suit the requirements of the department. I look forward to a positive outcome of my application.
