Enclosed is a second draft that was written on March 26, 2014. The draft recommends a well-functioning control valve for water heating system.
Notably, all water heating systems require controls that work toward equalizing the flow of water in the system, therefore, providing the proper temperature. I identified three types of valves that can be used for a residential bathroom. This draft analyzes three kinds of valves that can be used for residential bathrooms and through facts recommends the one type that is most efficient and fits all the other criteria met by a proper valve for a residential bathroom. The valves in discussion include the ball valve, gate valve, and globe valve.
After thorough scrutiny, the draft identifies the globe valve as the most suitable valve for the domestic bathroom. The reasons are:
- Because it has the ability to fully close the water flow
- It cannot be forced open or closed by the pressure of the water in the pipe
- Does not damage due to vibration cause by the water
- Is not prone to adjustment by the pressure of water
As a result is, it is the best suitable option for piping.
It is, however, important to note that there were certain limitations encountered when performing the research for writing this draft. For example, interviewees were also not always in a position to give precise information, which resulted to delay in doing my research. In addition, long hours of searching and waiting process were required for me to acquire the correct fact and figures that were needed to be included in this second draft. As a result, alternative sources of information had to be used for enough information to be generated necessary for this draft.
After performing the research needed for this case, it came to my realization that there are many more options of valves and piping out that are used in water heating system. Nonetheless, I could only discuss some of the few options due to the limited nature of the assignment, which required that I only discuss the ball valve, globe valve, and the gate valve. Resultantly, I believe that a future assignment should be set to research specifically other types of valves as well as the entire heating system and the mechanisms that facilitate the delivery of fluids from the source into the domestic households. This might help create a better understanding on valves concerning water-heating systems so that engineers can have a better idea on which valves should be used and on what occasions.
I would like to acknowledge all the people who sacrificed their time to provide the vital information that enabled the proper and well-rounded research that I performed for this task.
Finally, I am very grateful for the opportunity that this task afforded me. Due to the long hours and wide research that I performed in order to put this draft together, I am more knowledgeable than ever about water heating system and valves than I ever was before. This knowledge will undoubtedly go a long way in facilitating my career in the future.
