An organization is an entity involving various activities and responsibilities. A clear and elaborate mode of control is required in the organization in order to meet its set goals or objectives. This will depend on the organizational structure adopted. The challenge is to establish an organization structure that fits the organization's operations. A combination of self managed, and outsourcing organization structure is one of the many organization structures. It forms a matrix form organization structure, that subdivides organization into several sections in terms of branches, departments or functions. The importance or pros of this structure is that, every functional unit reports its activities to its specific function manager. This makes the operations within the company to be smooth.
The allocation of responsibilities is based on the skills and knowledge of an individual. This makes the productivity of work done to be high. Also, this will be achieved by high motivation among workers since individual works in his area of expertise and experience. This is made possible due to divisions made between organization activities based on particular functions. This makes coordination and communication feasible. The structure will be able to coordinate all organization activities and lead to effective communication channels. This will make it possible to allocate responsibilities to various organizational units. Through the structure, effective strategies can be implemented in favor of various cultural activities within the region and internationally. A specific department can be created and assigned the responsibility of analyzing culture in the organization and outside the entity. This will promote an effective relationship between the organization and its customers. This will result to the high performance of the organization and customer satisfaction.
This organization structure leads to the creation of employee motivation by effective ways of allocation of responsibilities. Through the allocation of responsibilities based on skills and knowledge, the worker feels motivated to work within the organization. A Leadership style adopted by any organization determines the workers' actions. Every worker aspires for a leader who will consider his or her welfare. There are different types of leadership in various organizations. Some leadership is workers oriented whose main considerations are working group but not the products made by the organization. The other leadership style is a product oriented which has minimal concern for the welfare of the workers but the organization products. The style approach theory focuses on the behavior of a leader towards the tasks and workers. The theory focuses on two types of behaviors to a leader. These include the task behavior and relationship behavior. The task behavior shows how the leader will behave towards the task allocated. The relationship behavior shows how the leader will behave towards his followers. The leader has to blend the two activities for an effective leadership. The two activities have different interests in the organization management and requires the leader to observe these effects on their applicability. A leader should initiate a leadership structure that will lead to high performance within the organization. He should initiate the task behaviors in order to nurture his activities to achieve his or her leadership goals.
The theory separates leaders as high or low tasks behaviors and high or low process behaviors. The behaviors are independent of each other. A leader cannot posses the two behaviors with the same magnitude. The leader has to blend the two behaviors in order to achieve the goals of the organization and the welfare of his followers. This is an indication that, the leader has to consider the two aspects in the organization for the achievement of his or her role. The Superior Widget Corporation requires a leadership style that blends its self managed and outsourced activities. The leadership style should also consider the welfare of the workers of the company. This leadership is necessary in the corporation since there are significant changes within the organization such as centralization of the customer relation services. The process of centralization can create disharmony among the employees, a scenario that can lead to low performance levels in the corporation. The leadership should unite the employees with the organization objectives in order to achieve the set organizational goals. This can be achieved by a leader who blends the corporations task behaviors and process behaviors. This will help the organization to thrive in the marketing of its products.
In conclusion, due to changes within the Superior Widget Corporation, an effective leadership style needs to be adopted. This will be meant to make the organization realize its goals on self managed activities and outsourced activities. The process requires an elaborate choice of leadership style. Similarly, the organization has some internal failures such as sale of wrong products to its customers. The process may affect the company market share since its customers can opt to move to its competitor. Strong coordination of activities and effective communication is required within the organization. This will aid in meeting the customer demands and on a timely basis. This shows that, the management team should design measures and strategies to achieve these objectives.
