Every Organization has a mission statement. According to David (2013), a mission statement might undergo changes from time to time depending on the direction of the organization. The mission statement is the concept of the Company. It gives details for existence of the company by defining all processes that occur within the company.
The Goodwill Organization’s mission statement is made to act as a guide to the internal efficiencies of the organization. The mission statement describes Goodwill organization’s purpose of “working to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families.” It shows the primary internal goals of the organization are to enhance the quality of life of individuals and families. It indicates that by carrying out this internal duty, they aim to “strengthen communities, eliminate barriers to opportunity, and help people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.” Thus, the mission statement is meant to act as a guide to the company’s internal efficiencies.
It is important for a company to change its internal efforts based on its mission statement. This is because the mission statement of any organization should be written in a way that it indicates the objectives of the Company. A good mission statement should be reviewed and updated constantly as an organization develops or changes its direction or reinvents itself (David, 2013).
A mission statement must always give the picture of the actions the organization is taking, t is vitally important. The mission statement should act as a guide to a company’s internal efforts and so any internal actions must be in line with the mission statement. A good mission statement will be the yardstick in evaluating an organization’s performance, and so it should guide the organizations internal actions to lead to the desirable results.
