In the survey that was to be conducted for Securitas Company, a pretest was to be done to validate the questions that I was to ask in the previous section of the semester project (Rea and Parker, 2005). The pretest that was done involved the people who were called and were located in places where Securitas Company had already established itself and it was known around there.
The respondents were called and told that the data they were to provide was to be used for analysis in a university project and not for commercial purposes. From the data that was collected, it can be said that the questions that the survey was going to ask the respondents, especially the first questions was the determinant. Many of the respondents used for the preset were demoralized when they did not answer as expected because the other questions were going to be irrelevant to them. Therefore, for the purposes of harmonizing the survey and collecting data from everyone a question that asked if anyone had an idea of Securitas was to be changed to something that was to include everyone in the field of study.
Also from the respondents that gave, feedback during the pretest it can be concluded that the questions that were to be asked during the survey were more focused on Securitas Company so much. A little was asked about the competitors that the company had. In a bid to promote and give the company a head start so that they could beat their competitors, the same questions should be asked for all the top competitors that Securitas Company is competing with to command the market.
Overall, from the feedback that was collected from the respondents, one can conclude that most if not all the questions were good and the feedback that was collected was the expected. It did not matter if the feedback was positive or negative but still it was very helpful.
After conducting the pretest and getting my question format right, it was time now to collect relevant information that was going to be very helpful for Securitas Company at large. A focus group had to be collected and the survey done to them. My focus group in this case composed of a group of ten people. Three of whom did not know that Securitas existed, three knew but had not been served by Securitas before the remaining four people knew of Securitas and have used Securitas services more than once.
Of course, all of these people had different feedback. The responses from the focus group, say those that did not know of the existence of Securitas were to be used to come up with ways that will make the company more famous than the way it is famous right now. The feedback that was collected from the people that knew of the existence of Securitas was crucial in helping the company know the perception that people had about private security around them. Did they find it beneficial and would they want to be associated with it? These are some of the questions that this group was to answer.
Finally, the last group that one would perceive, as customers were to answer the questions that Securitas had when it comes to customer satisfaction. Was the company edging closer to its targets and what can it doing to achieve it?
