Purpose Statement
Core Values
1. God loves the youth (Rom.5:8; John 3:16)
Youths are sincerely looking for answers in today’s society. They have realized a void in their lives that only Jesus can fill (Brown, 2011). Young people should realize that God truly loves them, and that through building a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ can they experience the full extent of His love.
2. Discipleship ministry is a progress (I Corinthians 3:4-9)
Discipleship ministry is a ministry that aims at serving the spiritual interest of all individual at the level of their beliefs and interest. Consequently, ministering to youths require offering to vary levels, which challenge each youth at a personal level of “spiritual interest” (Vukich, 2008). This requires a desire to develop a strong love and relationship with God (Matt. 22:38).
3. Relevance of culture is of the highest importance (I Cor. 9:18-24)
The culture of youths continues to change. Consequently, discussion topics and methods should change to match the experiences that youths experience in their daily lives.
4. Evangelism involves gradual improvement (I cor. 3:4-9)
The Holy Spirit can enable an individual to change his or her life. We acknowledge this and believe that the process of bringing youths to Jesus Christ involves personal testimonies, time, planning of events annually to maximize sharing of the Gospel, love in action, and commitment to share Christ.
5. Ministering in teams is imperative to accomplish a successful ministry (Philippians 2:3)
This involves building ministry around team concept. I do not believe in solitary style of ministry. Each team member has the potential to influence the lives of other students.
