The Letter
Dear Sir,
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the over-consumption of fast food has an adverse effect on the health and development of children. They may face heart problems at a tender age, breathing troubles, problems of fitness and stamina, skin problems, digestive disorders and so on.
The eating habits lead to obesity in children and a number of complications in the development of health in their formative years. I would request you to take into account the inappropriateness of luring the children and the parents, who are the dominant decision-makers in buying such food.
The children should not be seen as potential buyers and should be left out of the domain of the target market. The issue should be dealt with enough sensitivity and seriousness. The role of promotion in this regard should be reviewed by you and altered with promptness. The use of misleading advertisements promoting the special kid’s meal which comes with a gift toy is severely unethical and should be stopped. It needs to be understood that the kids are of very tender ages to understand the hazards relating to such consumptions and putting in huge amount of dollars in the ad campaigns would have a very dangerous effect on the children, which in the long run would turn out to be a societal problem regarding heath. Kindly, do not strip the children of their development in relation to health and stop considering them as consumers. In the rat race of bourgeois capitalist consumer culture, we would find the next generations of our society as weaklings with the health problems taking a toll on the country’s youth.
I sincerely hope that the matter would not be neglected by your company and you would take the necessary steps to stop this occurrence for the betterment of the society.
Thanking You.
Warm Regards,
