Good health of the people is essential for the prosperity of the nation. The realization of national goals such as increased national income significantly depends on the good health of its people. Emerging trends indicate that the United States government has taken the initiative to ensure that it has established a comprehensive health insurance plan for its citizens.
Given the three separate options, I will prefer the imposition of a 7 percent rise in the income tax. This is because this option of funding takes account of the relative differences in income earning among members of the society. It acknowledges the fact that there exist income inequalities among different types of workers. The $4000 per worker mandatory premium and the 7.65 percent poll tax do not consider the income inequalities among members of society.
The cost of good health services has for a long time remained beyond the reach of many United States citizens. It has been the responsibility of the United States government to ensure that all citizens access and afford good healthcare services. The emergence of multiple healthcare plans has been a step towards ensuring that all people afford good healthcare for themselves and their families. The increase in the number of healthcare plans is necessitating exchanges for health insurance. Health insurance agencies are offering more attractive products to their clients. This situation has improved the quality of healthcare packages offered to the people.
Healthcare is a service that attracts demand from the population. This amount and price of healthcare is determined by a combination of economic and social factors. The economic factors that affect the demand and pricing of healthcare services include the level of consumer income, the availability of substitute services, price of related products among others. Some of the social factors influencing the demand and pricing of healthcare include the expectation of patients, medical practice, and health status of the population.
In conclusion, it is the responsibility of the Government to ensure that it establishes healthcare insurance plans that for the needs of all their people. The healthcare plan adopted should address the general needs of the population.
