Abd Rabbur Mansur Hadi, born on 1st of September in 1945, he is a politician and the current president of Yemen from 27th of February 2012. Additionally, he is longest serving vice president of Yemen from 1994 right to 2012. Moreover, he served as the acting president of Yemen severally when former president Ali Abdullah Saleh was away from the country for medical reasons and other engagements. Nevertheless, despite having immense power on his hands, he did not overturn the government of Abdullah Saleh for his personal gain. Thus, this brings his major personality of being loyal and unselfish. In addition was the country was expressing uprising when the all nation was against the president Abdullah Saleh, he remain faithful to the government. Furthermore, He also allowed the Abdullah Saleh back to the country from United State despite huge opposition from the public (Gusterin, 2013).
The civil wars and his advance experience in the military have helped him have a commanding and influence over the Yemen people. Hence, he was able to convince the parliament to give immunity to the former president Abdullah Saleh. Furthermore, due to his wide experience in the military and influence, he is undertaking major reforms in the military to make more efficient. This will reduce the divisions which have been in existence since the civil war (Lewis, 2013).
However, Yemen has not fully recovered from the uprising and protest especially from the youths, but he is making tremendous strides in uniting the country. Surprisingly, in the February 2012 election he was the sole candidate, even the opposition supported his candidature. Thus, confirms how influential and the faith the people of Yemen have on his leadership skills. Through his speech in several avenues he has been able to ram support from the public and politicians on his reform agenda (Albrecht, 2013).
