Through socialization, individuals internalize various norms, beliefs, and values that their society embraces and learn how to be functional members of the particular community. The concept is very crucial in understanding how people become who they are in the long run. We somehow get to understand a person’s development and personality through this study. Social institutions differ depending on environments that people find themselves.
The image above represents a somehow busy part of town that is packed with several stores. As it can be noted there are quite some people who frequent this area. At the far end of the building, there are young people who appear to be having a conversation. A closer look reveals they are smoking, and they are actually near a liquor store as seen from the sign board towering above. It is a revelation that drinking is a form of recreation in this part of town culture. In today’s social setting people in urban centers such as this one have found various types of activities and environments are a form of socialization.
The image was taken on a Saturday afternoon and reveals that most people obviously like to spend it here. The evidence lies in the number of cars parked outside as families come together to enjoy services offered by the facility. It is an indication of the relaxed nature of the weekend and the amber mood provided here. The reason for selection of this image is because it is a representation of how much of the country is like during summers. People come to interact with their peers and families as a form of daily socialization. The reality is henceforth set through these interactions which are called social construct.
