Creating a System Restore Point
This procedure guides the user on how to create a system restore on a system running Windows 8.1.
Go to Start>PC Settings (the gear icon near the bottom left).
Click on Control Panel at the bottom left of the screen.
Click on System and Security>System.
Click on System Protection (Left side of screen).
Click on Create in the window that pops up.
Type a name for the restore point in the window that pops up and click Create.
The system restore point is created.
Use a System Restore Point
This section explains how to use a system restore point to roll back the changes made to a Windows 8.1 system.
Navigate to System Protection using steps 1 through 4 in the previous section.
Click on System Restore.
Click on Next.
Click Next and then click Finish on next window.
Remove a System Restore Point
This section explains how to remove a system restore point on a Windows 8.1 system.
Navigate to System Protection using steps 1 through 4 in the previous section.
Click on Configure.
Click on Delete to delete all restore points on the selected disk.
