The term culture is generally defined as the characteristics of some particular group of people. In turn, those characteristics include language, cuisine, religion etc (Native American Culture, 2015).
The lifestyles of Native American people can vary from nomadic to static. The religion and traditions of Native American people were primarily based on the culture, which is called Animism. The basis of Animism culture is the spiritual idea, which supposes that all the natural objects of the universe have souls or spirits. Moreover, Native Americans believe in the Great Spirit (Native American Culture, 2015).
Native Americans believe that spirits are interested in human life and in order to worship the spirits Native Americans performed different ceremonies and rituals. In turn, all the festivals and ceremonies contained singing, which was accompanied with different dances. For their clothes, Native Americans used the animal products, plant products, and cloth (Native American Culture, 2015).
The Afar are mainly black people who are very similar to people of Somali. Moreover, they have the cultural and linguistic connection with the group of people who are called Beja. The language of Afar people is unique, it is closely related to Saho and there are four dialects of this language (Jenkins, 2010).
Afar people are nomadic and tend to carry their houses with them. Women play a great role in the settlement of houses. Moreover, women milk the goats and play the role of the musicians. In addition, women of Afar are bare-breasted. One of the main features of Afar was that they kept themselves separate from the surrounding people. Vengeance killing has been one of their most important values, but nowadays it has disappeared (Jenkins, 2010).
The main religion of Afar is Islam. However, a lot of Afar also follow some animistic practices. Moreover, researchers have found the information that some of Afar people are Christian believers (Jenkins, 2010).
