The individual who spends time to learn, grow, observe, and experiment, among others, is called a student. A student is someone who seeks knowledge through formal education or through observations made around him. Learning is an inevitable fact of life. All experiences that an individual have provides learning opportunities to grow.
A student attends a regular school, college, or university. These are educational institutions where students gain knowledge about the world and various subjects, including science, mathematics, literature, and history. In school, a student is able to understand different theories that he or she can apply in real life. He or she has the willingness to learn in order to understand something, even if that means showing interest on subjects that do not interest the individual. For example, a person who enrolls in a Communication class needs to pass his or her Math subjects in order to complete college education. Despite not having the same passion in numbers compared with word formation, a student ensures that he or she has a good understanding of subjects that does not necessarily fascinate him.
A student is concerned about increasing his or her academic skills, which includes reading with comprehension, intelligent use of academic resources, developing good study habits, and having the ability to communicate one’s thoughts fluently and astutely in written and spoken form. For example, knowing that he or she is having difficulty in a particular subject does not discourage the student. Instead, it makes the student strive even more to gain the understanding of the subject.
A student is interested in applying and relating his knowledge to what is happening around him. He can make wise decisions and associations about what constitutes truth according to what he believes in and what he has learned from the educational institution. For instance, he witnesses a group of people rallying outside the gates of a company. A student will make use of logic to interpret why people are doing it, for what purpose, and for whose gain is it really.
In all, a student focuses on improving his or her attitude towards education. He or she ensures that he gains academically. A student is always aware about what is happening in his surroundings in order to make a sound life decision.
