Visitors Perception of Westminster London as a Sustainable, Responsible and Environmentally Friendly Destination
For many years London has been one of the main cities that attract tourists from all over the world. It is a unique place where the historical heritage is combined with the modern innovations. Amazing and extraordinary city of London is the heart of a huge United Kingdom, the largest state in Europe; it is an undisputed leader for the number of population. This is not only a favorite place for thousands of tourists, but also a city of global importance, the financial center, which is dictated by the laws of economics, politics, business, culture and even fashion. In terms of GDP per capita London occupies a leading position in Europe and completes the top five worldwide (London's Cultural Tourists, 2016).
Despite the fact that 60 years ago, after the Great London smog the city got unusual nickname "The Big Smoke", today it has quite moist, fresh and clean air of the vast metropolis that pleases its inhabitants and tourists. Obviously the fog is not uncommon for the city, but after an incident that happened due to the fog the government of the metropolis carefully monitors the ecological situation of London and the whole country (Nytimes.com, 2012). Even though the dreary weather and overcast skies London residents are very hospitable and friendly, smiling and never seem sad. The warm atmosphere of the city is literally saturated the joyful mood and creative spirit.
The aim of the following research is to examine the visitors’ perception of Westminster (London) as a sustainable, responsible and ecologically friendly destination for tourism. This aim would be achieved through the following objectives:

There are several segments of the visitors who want to see and feel the beauty of London. The first one is tourists, those planners who come to the city for holiday, in groups and do many tourist style activities while being there. Tourists have always wanted to visit London, view it at least one time during their life as it is one of the best cities for sightseeing. This type of visitors tends to stay in the best hotels (usually 5 stars) and spend large amounts of money while being here (Visitor Segmentation Presentation, 2016). The next segment is socialites. They usually come to London alone to visit family or friends. This type of visitors does many social, non-ticketed activities when they come to London. Socialites plan things on the go rather than in advance. Explorers’ segment includes visitors who come to London in couples to do the sightseeing without any arrangements in advance. Focused visitors vice versa plan their trips very carefully and do it in advance. When they come to London they already have a detailed list of places they want to visit.
One of the key parts in London is Westminster. It is the center of political, economic and social life. Westminster has much of the time characterized the relationship between the government and its subjects that thus has frequently been at the very heart of progress in the public arena. There are Green Park, Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, Kensington Gardens, etc. (Jacobs, 2016). Thus, it is possible to say about the ecological influence of this part on the whole city. It is the place for the innovative approaches in creating the city that would be ecologically friendly while it would attract citizens and tourists and bring benefits of different kinds. The government is trying to maintain sustainability in the city, improving the tourist services, thus attracting thousands of new people every year.
