Eighth Space X Cargo Launch
NASA targets to launch a cargo supply service mission on 8th of April to the NASA’s international space laboratory station. The spacecraft Space X’s Dragon cargo will be used for the mission. Dragon craft will be launched from a rocket located at the NASA’s space launch complex 40 . The Dragon craft crew and content will include researchers, scientists, the craft crew, food, house hold needs and other tools for the space laboratory that supports the Expeditions other crew in the remote station. The mission will be aired in 3 briefings in the NASA TV. During the briefing scientists and researchers will discuss the mission objectives.
After 10 minutes of flight the Dragon will arrive at the beginning orbit. At this point, Dragon will install its solar arrays and prepare its navigation antennas for a set of programmed operations that will enable it to get to the station. The space craft will make 34 orbits of the earth before it can dock at the space station that is already in motion.
Using a robotic arm in the spacecraft from the onboard space station scientist Jefferson and Williams will get the dragon craft to anchor at the station. Instructions from the base stations will then be used to fix Dragon craft to the Harmony, a module in the space station for a comfortable anchoring at station. On 10th the team will pressurize the space between dragon craft and the station to make it easy for the team to access the supplies from the dragon craft .
The dragon craft will be loaded with the amounts required to be brought back on earth. This will be the astronauts’ biological sample and all other sample collected by the laboratory space station since the previous year. The collected samples will help NASA gain information about space and also test the health of the astronauts who are based on the space station.
The Dragon craft will be expected on earth on 11th may and will land near the coast of California five and half hours after its launch from the remote station.
