Introduction
Electronic health records is an important aspect of a eahltcare organisaiton. The development of this system will enhance the processes of the organisaiotn. This will paper will assess the development process of this system in the hospital unit of a halthcxare organisaiton.
I developed the timelines by assessing the tasks that are to be performed. The time that a given task will take will depend on other tasks associated with a particular task. The most the dependencies, the longer it will take for the task to be completed. There are also tasks that will require technical expertise. With these tasks, they want more time for quality system to be developed. For proper development of this timeline, it was important to understand what was needed to develop the timeline of the paper (Hoerbst, & Ammenwerth, 2010).
The milestone was developed by looking at the overall system and understanding the role of the different tasks. The development of the milestones was guided by the independence of the tasks. I used the degree of independence of the tasks and how they could operate on a standalone basis. An example is that a database can stand alone. The completion of the development of a database made a milestone. Same to the development of the electronic health record system. After the completion of the system, it formed a milestone of the project. This applied to the HER system, database, and network. Other milestones include the requirements specifications, and testing. These formed independent activities of the system. It is important that these systems make the milestones because the completion of the systems will mean that a subsystem has been completed. The other subsystem may be started (Hoerbst, & Ammenwerth, 2010).
