The competitive business industry across the globe has changed the way entrepreneurs engage each through conversation. Entrepreneurial conversation in corporate meetings offers marketers an opportunity to inform new clients of the types of products and services they deal. Rogoff highlighted the most important strategies that a sales executive should keep in mind when engaging top business people in a conversation to improve long term relationship between new clients and the business enterprise (3). During the conversation, the marketing manager will find and qualify decision makers and influencers from the targeted companies. While decisions are people who are charged with making the ultimate decision in meetings, influencers are individuals who have influence but may not necessarily be the ultimate decision makers (Blanchard et al. 8). In this regard, I would exercise due diligence by asking the right questions. I would take into account the short time given for breaks and inform my target about the type of products and services my company offer.
The second secret in entrepreneurial conversation is to avoid making assumptions. Coming from a relatively known company like bams, a sales executive may be tempted to assume that his target is aware of the things that the company offer. In this regard, I will ensure that I bring the potential target up to speed with the specific products that my company offers to give them a brief overview of what to expect. It is important to recognize that another meeting with the same group of people may not happen in again (Nierenberg 6). In this regard, a sales executive should ensure that every target individual is sought. While asking for a meeting with the potential target, it is imperative that the sales executive remembers to acquire contact address for the individuals to remind them in case they may forget.
