Andy Goldsworthy
Andy Goldsworthy is a British artist born 26 July 1956. Andy describes the process and decay of photography in the ephemeral and the transient state. Andy observes the change of artwork in its lifecycle. Andy expresses the intensity of an artwork during the peak when it is active and the low intensity when the artwork is prone to decay. As a student of art in 1976 at Preston Polytechnic, Andy manages to use fresh illustrations that are in rapport with nature. The artist elaborates the experience of the farm that lead him have an intimacy with nature. As an art student, he splashes and slides mud and sand and observes light effects at the bay. He arranges twigs and leaves to provoke a sense of the unimagined in the audience. Andy does not violate artwork in nature to ensure success. He establishes the theme of standing stones that can barely balance. In the 1970s, he develops an opening motif with holes and cracks made using leaves. The black of the hole represents the force of the earth. Andy works on projects with holes by experimenting with leaves that he collects from the forest then he boils them and turns them to sheets. Andy succeeds in using different types of leaves and thorns to make translucent shields for the light to glow. The artist focuses on the leaves and their color after the passage of time. Like a sculpture and a photographer, Andy displays a unique form of art in the extraordinary cinematic production. Andy’s art projects an examination of the nature to search for materials from nature. He labors to create beautiful sculptures that resemble natural patterns and shapes that exist in a particular area he does the artwork. In one of the sculptures, Andy forms it using broken-ice that melt soon after illumination from the sun.
Christo
Christo is a Bulgarian artist born June 13, 1935. Christo is an earth artist who uses ephemeral quality to depict the environment. Christo makes his creation with the available landscape to wrap buildings and islands. The magnificent umbrella colors appear well when one is on an aerial vantage point. When seen from above the umbrella appears as splash of colors that complement the earth tones on the landscape canvas. Christo ‘s ideology to wrap things gives the audience an impression of a mysterious quality on the buildings and other objects seen every day. The audience cannot notice the hidden beauty in the wrapped things while one sees evidently the contours and the projections to appreciate the forgotten beauty. Christo works as a pop artist who gives life in an artwork by creating the illusion.It enables the audience to see beyond the earth and bricks. The hidden beauty leads people on excursion and exploration to identify the wrapped object and the interior that dictates a particular form.
Christo work with his wife Jean-Claude to wrap public buildings hung drapes, and dot the Central Park using saffron-colored gates. This creation helps the audience to interpret art in a new way. The married couple succeeds in creating environmental works of art. Some of their works include Pont-Neuf-bridge wrapping in Berlin, the running fence in California, among others. The purpose of this art is to depict the beauty in the environment to create freshness when people see familiar landscapes. Christo and Jean wrap the Beyeler foundation using shiny polyester. They make a natural pattern for every tree that has branches with fabrics.

Andy Goldsworthy prefers at outdoor approach instead of the artwork being placed in the gallery in an indoor approach. Andy’s approach focuses on the nature in the artwork and its effect after some time. For instance, how the climate and the weather can affect the appearance of the artwork in a certain period. Andy understands that it is fruitless to attempt and move or control nature since it returns how it was. According to Andy, the style and the artwork can change over time since he applies raw materials from the environment. Andy and Christo pursue fine arts as their career in college. Both artists have an attraction to natural items. Andy uses naturally available materials such as leaves and twigs while Christo uses natural recycled materials to wrap objects. Both artists in their lifetime have had partners who have an interest in art. Christo works with his departed wife Jeanne – Claude and together they create environmental works of art. Andy currently lives with Tina Fiske who is an art historian. The difference is that while Andy focuses on the nature and identifies the change of color on leaves, Christo focuses on buildings and establishes a new way with the familiar buildings. Andy is a painter, photographer, and a sculptor while Christo is an earth artist who specializes in wrapping. Andy is of British descent while Christo is of Bulgarian descent. Andy is a naturalist who observes the changing of the color of the behavior of an artwork after a passage of time during Christo is not.
