Having a career has become a constant part of every individual’s life as of late. Apart from that constant, there are also many differences in between people and their thoughts about career, and one of these differences has to do with the reason why these people choose to maintain a career next to their personal and social life. For some, this career provides a purpose to life while for others; the career helps fulfill aspirations that carry monetary worth.
In much the same way, having a career is important to me because my career makes life more challenging and it gives my life a meaning which I may otherwise not find without the support of the same vocation. It keeps me motivated, and it also leaves me free to make decisions in my life which require investment and expenditure of money.
The same career gives me the chance to return a little bit to the people in my life who have supported me all along. I may be able to shoulder their dreams, but I could most certainly make them happy in small ways, and I like that my career is there to help me with that goal.
A free market economy is a great success on paper, but there are also a number of drawbacks to allowing the consumer and producer to make all the critical decisions because the system seems to forget that the economy comprises of a number of people, and each one of them and their spending power is of importance.
Climate change is a responsibility for us to bear and if we want the earth to stay as beautiful as it is today, we have to take responsibility for businesses and policies that could stress upon the preservation of the environment.
There was a time during my internship at a small company that my seniors required for me to get software that was against company policy. There were two avenues from the point where I stood. One was to get that software and use it in secret while the other was to follow the company policy and enrage the seniors. What happened later was at great cost but none to my conscience.
China may be thinking of the greater good and the success of its economy in the implementation of its policies, but there is no doubt that amongst the general population, the adherence to those policies comes at a great cost.
