The individual who spends time to learn, grow, observe, and experiment, among others, is called a student. I am a student. All experiences that I have provide learning opportunities to grow and as a student, I accept that learning is an inevitable fact of life. A student is someone who seeks knowledge through formal education or through observations made around him, strives to increase knowledge, and applies his knowledge in all that he or she does.
As a student, I attend a regular school where I could gain knowledge about the world. I attend classes in science, mathematics, literature, and history. In Math, for instance, we learn about various algebraic expressions and theorems in Geometry, while I read novels that Shakespeare wrote, including poems by Emily Dickinson, Ernest Hemingway, and Walt Whitman.
As a student, I am concerned about increasing my academic skills. This includes reading with comprehension, intelligently using academic resources, developing good study habits, and having the ability to communicate my thoughts fluently and astutely in written and spoken form. For instance, accepting that I am having difficulty in a particular subject does not discourage me. Instead, it makes me strive even more to gain understanding of the subject.
As a student, I am interested in applying and relating my knowledge to what is happening around me. In school, I make wise decisions and associations about what constitute truth according to what I believe in and what I have learned from the educational institution. For instance, I witness a group of people rallying outside the gates of a company. As a student, I make use of logic to interpret why people are doing it, for what purpose, and for whose gain is it really.
In all, a student focuses on improving his or her attitude towards education. He or she ensures that he gains academically. A student is always aware about what is happening in his surroundings in order to make a sound life decision.
