- Behavior and Classroom Management
Behavior and classroom management is a very important skill which should be possessed by every instructor. It is necessary for an improved learning within the classroom set up. I will use this skill while dealing with my students. I will expect to study and understand the psychology of my learners. Through this, I will manage to know more about their backgrounds, abilities, weaknesses and do all that I can to rectify their behaviors to conform to the set standards.
- Disabilities
The knowledge of disabilities will be instrumental in handling disabled (students with special needs). As the name suggests, such learners have physical impairments which require special attention. Thus, I will ensure that I adopt strategies which will accommodate them to fit into my class.
- Learning Strategies
I will ensure that I choose the best teaching and learning strategies suitable for my learners. However, while doing this, I will have to consider the nature of my learners, their level of understanding, the topic under discussion and the external environment. If the situation allows, I will have to adopt more engaging strategies in my classroom. For example, when teaching, I will have to choose a strategy which will enable me to achieve my goals as an advocate of the learner-centered approach.
- Assessments
Since it marks the end of the teaching and learning process, assessment plays an integral part in the life of learners. In this regard, I will have to organize for both formative and summative assessments. This will be done by administering continuous tests throughout the year and eventually giving the main test at the very end of the program. It will enable me to ascertain the extent to which my objectives are accomplished.
