Before anyone is selected for an employment position in a company, there are some considerations that must be put in place by the department of human resource to ensure that the skills of an individual match the task being offered. The requirements outlined in a job post should be compatible with those of the employee selected. Employees hired in a company should be in a position to put their self-interest behind and yearn to achieve the objectives and goals of the company (Youssef, C., 2012). The employees should possess the ethical values in the company they are working for as it helps reduce conflicts at the work place since; it outlines the rights and wrongs in the firm.
The goals of employee selection are; first is to get an employee who will be willing to work in the firm. Stability of the employees is necessary because; no employer would want to employ someone who would be hopping from on company to another. Another goal is to get an individual who will contribute positively to the profit levels of the company (Youssef, C., 2012). Hence, it necessitates that an employee is selected based on the qualities and the education level of the applicants. The company is ever focused on the performance of the employee in the firm. The employees should be strong willed and, commit to concentrate all their effort to the position offered.
Effective employee selection methods would be conducting interviews with the successful applicants. The second one could be use of broad intellectual aptitude of the employee. It can be conducting by subjecting the employee into a number of tasks that will help the interviewer assess the ability of the individual ((Youssef, C., 2012).. The impacts of the above methods to achieve the organizational goals are improving the general public image of the company, reduction in the expenses since; few resources used are very minimal.
