This is a review concerning the environmental issues. The movie is about a Paraguayan musical youth group, which consists of kids living next to one of South America’s largest landfills. These children’s lives seem to have no contact with music. However, their teacher produced a variety of musical instruments using garbage and it significantly changed children’s lives.
As we know, Paraguay is a dirt-poor country, and according to the film, all the children are living in the environment full of garbage. Rubbish invades land, rivers and lakes are jammed. This is not conducive to neither the health nor the landscape. It also negatively affects the growth of crops. Garbage issue in the city with the growing population is increasing at an annual rate of 10%. According to the professional investigations, nearly 2/3 of the China’s cities has turned into the waste disposal site. Environmental pollution from garbage has brought a lot of harm, for example: the atmosphere and the city's living environment are seriously polluted, as well as water; biological pollution occupies a large number of land. The most terrible thing is that sometimes accidents happen because of garbage explosion. Garbage pollution also affects the development of the country’s economy. If we recycle garbage, it might bring good economic development. On the contrary, it might lead to greater waste of resources. In order to solve the problem of pollution from garbage, we should encourage the classification of garbage and promote green consumption. At the same time, enterprises should change their mode of production.
Having watched the film, we got to know that the educational level of the Paraguay’s residents is not high. I think that one of the reasons for this situation is that the economy is backward; the other reason is that there are too many people. Such great number of people will have a huge impact on education and employment.
