Immigration Law
3764 American Trail
Hello Mr. Rameriz;
We would like to schedule a meeting with you on July 21, 2008 at 10:00am at the offices of Immigration Advocates. This is also a gentle reminder that the initial consultation fee is a flat rate of $1,000. As a further remind, Ms. Meriweather can only accept cash, a bank cashier’s check, or money order and will need payment at the beginning of the meeting. Please see below for a list of the necessary documents that you will need to send to the office prior to your interview. Keep in mind that all of these documents need to mailed at least two weeks prior to your appointment in order that Ms. Merriweather has time to review your file and get herself prepared for the meeting. As neither you nor your wife speak fluent English, if you have a translator that is able to attend the meeting with you, that would be helpful in order that you fully understand what is discussed. As your wife the petitioner, please make sure that she is available to answer any questions about the documents that were submitted that Ms. Merriweather might have for her. The following documents need to be mailed at least two weeks prior to the interview date.
Original Birth Certificate – For both you and your wife
Three years of tax returns from your wife – She needs to submit supporting documentation that she can support you during your stay in America.
Photos – Submit photographs of you and your wife together, in different settings. This demonstrates your relationship. Pictures of her and you with respective family members would be helpful at this time as well (Wang 482).
Employment Verification and Letters – Again, this will come from you wife. Please obtain letters from her employers that indicate she is gainfully employed, the duration of the employment, and that it is likely to continue for the foreseeable future (Kim 760).
Educational Certificates (if any) for you and your wife
Draft a statement detailing how you and your wife met. Be as detailed and concise as possible
Original marriage certificate
Letters from close friends that can testify to your relationship
Copies of official documents detailing any joint accounts (such as a bank account) that you both own. It is also helpful to submit any utility bills, credit card statements, rent or lease agreements, and others that show both of your names.
Again, please have these documents assembled and mail directly to our office at:
