One day when I was around five years old, I saw my young life flash before my eyes. It was on this particular day that I had left for school. My mother had prepared everything for me and sent me to school. She gave me instruction as usual once we leave school, I should immediately commit myself to coming home directly without hesitating anywhere.
I had kept the instructions of my mother until one day that till today I vividly remember and look at it with amazement. On this day as we left school my attention was caught by my colleagues as we were walking home. As soon as we had left the school compound, they begun to play an interesting game on our way home that I loved so much. I could not afford to go without taking part in the game for a while. I thought I could play with them until we reach a point where we were parting and everyone head home. Unfortunately, the children I was with were neighbors back at home.
The game was interesting and my thoughts were totally entangled on it that we went past my departing point without noticing. It was not until darkness began to fall that I realized that I was in a place I could not tell. It was at this point that my friends left for their homes. Fear gripped me. I could not trace the way to home.
I that moment of desperation, my parent had embarked on a search for me when she realized I had not gotten home in time. It was not until around 8pm that she happened to find me beside a road stranded and in tears not knowing what to do. Upon arriving home I received beating that left me with voiceless cry. Since that day I never again missed out on any detailed instruction I was given.
