The business environment is one that is dynamic and sees its fair shares of changes that are characteristic of the landscape. As a result of technology that has been embraced in business processes, the market has become fairly competitive. In a bid to survive the dynamic environment, businesses are opting to improve the quality of their service, as well as their products.
As a result of these changes in the landscape, businesses have embraced other practices that may be questionable, from a moral and ethical perspective. These issues are discussed widely by Shaw and Barry in their analysis of moral business practices.
/>
One of these issues discussed, is the practice of dumping. Shaw and Barry indicate that first world countries are dumping substandard goods and even medicines in third world countries. For instance, some multinational organizations are notorious in their dumping practices. In this case, they make small alterations in their products in order to cover up their flaws so that the receiving countries may not discover their true nature.
According to Shaw and Barry, in their argument of preferred form, they give the example of dumping of medicines to demonstrate unethical and immoral business behavior. They indicate that the illegality of selling expired medicine in some countries. They add that these medicines are being dumped in third world countries. They therefore reach the conclusion that the dumping of this type of medicines is illegal. The terms in this argument are the illegality term which comes after the action of dumping these medicines and other substandard goods.
Furthermore, Shaw and Barry indicate that the act of selling substandard and dangerous products to third world countries is morally impermissible. They indicate that the US companies usually are caught in this immoral action. They reach the conclusion that the US is therefore, morally impermissible. The terms available are moral impermissibility courtesy of immoral actions.
This argument is relevant and relatable as one sees the accuracy of their indications and are therefore valid and justifiable.
