VA AND THE VETERANS
Recently, I went to visit McPherson in Atlanta, GA where a temporary housing shelter for veterans is being constructed. This is in the quest of government to provide health care to the veterans in the society. The VA has been in the frontline in ensuring that the people who are in veterans get adequate medical care in various ways. One of the ways is that the nurses provide medical care both short term and long term health maintenance care for veterans who require minimal medical care. The VA also provides primary and mental health care to the veterans. This is done through the staffs from VA visiting the homes due to those who are unable to visit the clinics. The other way is that they provide sexual trauma counseling to the victims. The other way that VA provides medical care is through specialized health care for women. The also offer drug and alcohol dependency treatment through intensive counseling sessions and rehabilitation.
The health care that is provided by the VA can be improved in several ways. The government should set a significant amount of funds to the VA in order to make sure that they offer inpatient services. This is because most veterans have been reported to die in their homes after receiving medical treatment. This is because they do not have a qualified person to take care of them. The other way that the health care can be improved is that the VA should employ qualified doctors to treat the veterans. This is because though the nurses have been of significant help they may not be able to diagnose most of the complicated diseases. This leaves the veterans to suffer from diseases and later succumb to them.
