It was with great regret that I previously was withdrawn from your program. Through a series of unfortunate events I had missed too many classes throughout the course. My absences were nobody’s fault but mine; I had a lot going on at the time. I had also used up all of my late passes. On the day of my finals for the course I unfortunately had to use my last late pass and due to the course’s policy they were forced to let me go. At that time in my life I was not very skilled at time management. I was also not taking very good care of myself. As a result I was clearly unable to give the course the attention that it needed. These two things combined caused me to lose focus for a short time. Your program appeared to be of high caliber, I had already learned a lot and it was not my wish to waste your time or the time of my classmates by being late or missing classes. Fortunately I currently find myself in a better place. I will be able to arrive to class on time and have a minimal amount of absences. My life has stabilized and I have worked hard to get my personal affairs in order. I have minimized my distractions in order to ensure that once again the program can remain my number one priority, and I will not waste the time of the educators.
For example, I have worked on my time management skills. Prior to this, I was not good at keeping track of time or arriving on time. I would let it get away from me a lot and sometimes I would be late for things or I would end up missing things entirely. Many times this caused me to be late for class or not be able to attend at all. Obviously this was the reason I was unable to make many of my classes, which resulted in my absences. I now wear a watch, set timers on my phone, and keep track of where I am supposed to be, as well as at what time. I try to keep a detailed planner that notes my schedule for the week. I go over in the mornings in order to get a grasp on what my day will be like so I have a better chance of arriving on time and following through with my commitments. .
Another change I have been able to make that will help ensure my completion of the program is taking time for myself. I am not typically the type to take care of myself. Sometimes I would end up being late or absent because I would be sick or just feel badly. Sometimes this was because I was giving too much of myself to other things or just neglecting myself entirely. Consequently, in the past, I have had little energy to follow through on personal endeavors. This is no longer the case. I am taking the time to do things that ensure I am healthy and feel good about myself. I am eating healthier, beginning to exercise, and taking a little bit of time each day to be at peace with my own thoughts and relax. I feel motivated and energetic each day, ready to take on the world.
This program means so much to me. I have always felt the need to help people; it appears I may have just been going about it in the wrong way. The completion of this program will allow me to rectify that by helping people in a way that matters. Completing this program will also mean that I will be eligible to continue with my dream to be a Registered Nurse. This is something I have wanted to do since I was very young. To have a chance at receiving all that I have ever wanted fills me with a form of excitement far too great to describe. I am beyond grateful to be considered again for this program. I have worked very hard at making the necessary changes to lead a healthier, happier life that will help ensure I will finish your program this time. I look forward to putting all of my motivation, hard work, and drive to use in this program and the RN program in the near future. My passion is to help people; I know I can do that if I am given the chance.
