Religion and politics are very important things in the world. It is worth noting that political power and religious power is connected in one way, or another. In 1600 in Europe, religious and political revolutions took place that shaped the relationship of the organization, leaders, politics and religion. The 17th-century marked revolutions in European philosophy, politics, science, and religion. The new religious ideas and political ideas of the era clashed, which led to conflict in Europe and other parts of the world. The legacy of reformation brought together issues of power both in politics and religion. The religions power continued in the entire Europe in 1600, feeding issues of political disputes between various countries in Europe. For example, the countries that were affected by religious strife included England, Spain, and Netherlands. The connection between religious power and political power
The connection between political power and religious power was the fact that each of them wanted to dominate in Europe. Martin Luther criticized the greed of the church on issues of power, which led to the transformation in political and religious landscape in Europe. In fact, Europe went through religious and political turmoil in the move to determine boundaries (Spielvogel 228). The conflict was carried out through military conflicts that led to the loss of life. The relationship between political power and religious power is the fact that they are defined and guarded by skeptics.
The Catholic Church through the leadership of the pope led to various conflicts. These are because most people asserted that the church is above the state. The nature of political power and religious power seemed to conflict. The separation of the church and state could elaborate clearly the connection between the political power and religious power. Some philosophers asserted that the government had no power on issues related to individual conscience; hence, the government could not influence (Spielvogel 234). Therefore, the connection of political power and religious power came up since each of the stakeholders influenced society in diverse ways. Religion shaped the view of people in society and influenced political decisions.
In addition, religious articulation on issues of political power demonstrates the connection between political and religious power. The religious power played crucial roles in political situations in Europe. Many of the people in Europe began to focus on religious beliefs; hence, politicians focused on getting support through religion. There was visible dialectical connection between religious power and the quest of political power (Spielvogel 251). The unavoidable circumstance demand to be coherent in religious groups and teams in order to expand political power was a reality in Europe in 1600s. The reformation and conflict that took place in Europe exposed the connection between political power and religious power.
The church in England received favors from England landowners and House of Lords. It is evident that those who denied Christianity were punished. The connection between political power and religious power was the aspect of support religion received. The conservatives focused on uniting the state and the church.
The decline of decline of religious power is focused on the issue of reformation within the church. The Anglican conservatisms blamed the religious disunity on issues of crime and national security. The tension that was among Christians gave politics greater control. The innovation and improvement of human life strengthened the state since people looked for solutions from the state. One of the issues is the economic systems and mercantilism that changed the standard of living in Europe. For example, many people focused on politics and left religion.
