The rite of passage is marked by prominent rituals that intend to depict the identification of certain country, ethnicity or race. In this reference, the rituals that depict the rite of passage are observed as element that adds objectivity to portray the component as functional piece of culture. In this lieu, the Arab culture can be observed for evaluation of the same on ground of prominence and uniqueness.
The most obvious rite of passage that is evident from the very first glimpse of Arabic naïve is the piece pf cloth tied over the head known as Aba. This piece of cloth is worn by Arabic male and female both. The objective behind wearing this clothing is to display religious belonging and show the cultural association, as well. However, at present under the influence of contemporary modifications, the use ‘Aba’ is losing its preference under the influence of the ‘rite of passage’. The introduction to the modern world has induced evident influence over the illustrated stereotype based choices of the Arabs. Hence, with the growing exposure and intermingling at international level, the ritual of wearing ‘Aba’ is prominently dragged to a separation phase. From the separation phase it refers to the detachment of the populace from the ritual, which is obvious when we monitor the appearance of Arabs in education institutes and international organizations.
The second phase of transitional state illustrates the stage where the populace (Arabs) is dragged away from the ritual but not yet intact to other substitute. In this reference, the Arabs have dethatched from their cultural dressing but not yet inclined to use three piece or business suits which are completely in contrast to the design and fitting of their previous dress code. Thus, it could be regarded that the two phases of the ‘rite of passage’. However, the adaptation of blazer, coats and hoodies could be regarded as the introductionary phase of adaptation. Hence, the depicted cycle can be observed to get a fair view of the ‘rite of passage’ from the perception of different phases, depicting the shift in interest and choices of the culture and ethnicity
