Modern society has a very complicated hierarchy in it. Some people can be seen as more powerful than the others. Often, this difference in the powerfulness depends on the gender of a person and it characterizes the society very vividly. Savulescu’s Principle of Procreative Beneficence can help to explain why men can be seen as more powerful humans in certain societies.
Eugenic determination of fetuses is currently conceivable by utilizing in vitro treatment (IVF) and preimplantation hereditary analysis (PGD). While PGD is at present being utilized for the reasons for distinguishing chromosomal variations from the norm or acquired hereditary anomalies, it could on a basic level be used to test any hereditary quality, for example, hair shading or eye shading. Hereditary examination is quickly advancing into the hereditary premise of complex qualities like insight and a quality has been distinguished for criminal conduct in one family. Once the choice to have IVF is made, PGD has few `costs' to couples, and individuals would be more disposed to utilize it to choose less genuine therapeutic qualities, for example, a lower danger of creating Alzheimer Sickness, or notwithstanding for non-therapeutic qualities. PGD has as of now been utilized to select developing lives of a wanted sexual orientation without any history of sex-connected hereditary ailment (Savulescu 413).
The scientist offers that parents should be choosing their child’s gender if it is possible. They should do it when they believe that in their society male representatives will be more successful than female. Men has been seen as more prospective gender in many societies for awhile. Therefore, people often prefer to have a boy over girl. According to procreative beneficence principle people need to choose the genes that they want their child to have. However, it does not matter whether men are more successful or not, women still need to be in life. If there is no women, then no men will be born. If people start choosing purely male to be born, as a result it will result in the fiasco of humanity. Girls should be born no matter what are the principles of the society are. Also, if everyone cannot be equally successful. There should be a diversity of people so the others know how they want to develop in their lives. Every person should see an aim for their life. If everyone is equally successful, they would need the same job which means that we will no longer have people to work as cleaners, volunteers, restaurant workers.
In conclusion, the method of choosing the gender and all the characteristics of the baby will lead to some type of utopia that will lead to chaos. Every person will see themselves as perfect and then we will no longer have people to do the jobs that they can do because everyone will be doing only highly paid jobs. There is a process of natural selection that should take place no matter who is seen more or less successful gender in the society. All people are different and it attracts people who are different to each other. No one can be equally good and successful as the others. There should be a balance in people. There always should be someone more or less successful so the others have more motivation to develop and be more efficient in the life.
