Sometimes it is always sensible that something is not right in the workplace. During my internship, I noticed that the CFO was skipping out of the office early, and at the same time, he was leaving the computer on so it appeared as he was down the hall. The main issue is that there was no oversight of the CFO’s working hours. Moreover, other colleagues had witnessed this CFO arriving late and leaving early as well as skipping out during the day for special appointments, yet he is managing to have tons of paid time off hours (PTO). Additionally, the CFO always talk about what he is having, something that does not add up with what he works.
One of the key issues is that the capabilities of people such as experience increases. Therefore, this influenced me during the internship concerning what I can do with what should always be in place. For instance, in the organization where I conducted my internship, it was easy to work for less than full hours of the day and record different amounts. However, it was something unethical, and I will never do it.
Ethical behaviors are something that one needs to condition themselves so that in various circumstances, one may act in the similar ethical manner. Therefore cutting corners in any situation may be the beginning of the cutting corner in the future. Consequently, reporting to work on time and working for full hours will enable me to honor the entire commitments to different projects. This is something I would like to keep doing until the end of the semester as well as for the rest business career.
The above ethical issues, allow me to maintain my word without lying about my commitments and gain respect needed to rise in the ranks in the future business world. That is it worth doing something when my colleague is leaving early every day because he is stealing time from the company and therefore takes money that does not belong to him. This ethical issue troubles me since it is essential to justify your personality to the entire group that can be either your colleagues or the company. Hence, being clear regarding the ethical issue will enable me to accurately weigh the pros and cons of addressing it (Gallo).
