- Hank was undergoing through burnout or stress in many ways. Firstly, he felt out of touch with everything and had been thinking that he did not get a fair shake at his station as his television industry, station members, assignments and market even everything around him was changing. His fret was growing rapidly, and he was feeling to lose control. It is because he was under severe pressure about work by not meeting the billing targets. Although he was trying hard to get through but of no avail. Adding fuel to the fire, he realized that his bad output was responsible for his declining work performance. Moreover, his break time conversation with a colleague named, Jo Alice Matter also hinted dissatisfaction with entire work environment. He felt antagonistic about other colleagues and the office itself only because of their negative conversations. He lacked self-esteem as well; however, he was depressed while leaving his co-workers and office.
- There are many things that could reduce burnout, if not eliminate it fully. Some of them could be avoiding negative thoughts that become the reason of stress, learning to adjust and accept changes around him, take his boss’s criticism in a positive way and work on him improvement, he was not dynamic, although working in a dynamic environment. His work routine was outdated which required drastic improvements. This improvement could reduce his burnout and mental situation. Moreover, the choice to retire instead of fighting and striving back was the wrong decision on his behalf. He could avoid burnout by choosing not to retire.
