According to Chandra et al., (2013) transits services provide the commuters with access to different places in the industry. This enables the commuters to engage in activities channeled to improve the economic development. A transit system is an example of a transport facility that can offer the public a platform to facilitate services. I feel it is important for the street network system to cater for new developments so as to enable ease of traffic. The government can consider adding new highway links to enable fast delivery of goods in case of the long distance travelers. The improvement of the highway links can simplify the travels of the local user in the community. A micro or a macro transportation network affects people’s ability to access different places. The improvement of the public transport system enables the travelers to access their destinations quickly. Chandra et al. (2013) says that regions with high populations need a good transportation network with a reliable facility to support residential mobility needs. Transport authorities can provide a reliable transit system to achieve this feat. They can use transit bus that is accessible to many people in a community. A bus is beneficial since it can serve many people simultaneously and has a low cost of maintenance.
Chandra et al. (2013) finds that the bus transit is a general form of transport in the United States that provides the local community with a reliable means of mobility. The transit authorities work hard to ensure a feeder service can cater for many stops in a major transit line. Companies and industries are of the opinion of using a strategic position to improve the accessibility of a production unit.
The bus transit offers the highest share in ridership counts among all other public transportation system in the nation. The operators of transit work to increase the ridership for bus service. Chandra et al. (2013) is not in favor on the popularity of the buses of buses. This is because most of the Americans find it hard to locate the bus transit. A bus transit cannot connect people from their neighborhood to the transit stop one must walk or bike to the transit stop to access the bus transit. Most of the people in the work force prefer walking to their workstations to derive health benefits. I think this routine can only benefit those who live and work in the same area. This method cannot assist people who live and work in far distances.
In my opinion to replace an FRT and DRT, the transit authorities can come up with a preferred point as a transit stop. This stop can maximize accessibility and minimize travel times to reduce social inequalities. Consequently, this transportation system can reduce travel time cost between any two locations translating to improved access. The public transit authorities must stop competing with private car usage and channelling their efforts on the first and last mile transport connectivity. I think the feeder transit service is a cheaper and reliable mode of transport to cater for the local community.
