Introduction
The evolution of any substance gives a substantial historical background of the same substance. That is; anything that evolves does so within its history. In addition, information on this history is very essential in the learning process of related subjects. For instance, the evolution of human beings is the basis of the psychological, as well as biological education. Accordingly, it has always acted as a source of information on the means and ways of dealing with psychological issues. Different aspects of life have different foundations on which they base their argument (Chandler, 2001). For instance, there are several fields in life that have had evolution within the variables that formulate them. Some of them involve medicine, business, politics, general educations and sports among other major areas of life. Accordingly, this paper aims at discussing evolution in business oriented substances. In addition to that, it aims at discussing the history and evolution of two industries. These industries include consumer electronics and airline. After a detailed study of these industries, the paper will establish the importance of their history and evolution towards comprehending present business arena.
Consumer electronics are defined as the electric equipment that is aimed at to serving the purpose of daily use. Some of the basic uses of these electronic include entertainment, office productivity and communication among others. Some of the items that are categorized in this group of electronics include the television sets, radio receivers, video players, personal computers and mobile phones. Currently, the largest producers of consumer electronics include Japan and the United States of America (Dhir, 2004). On the other side, airlines are categorized among the most advanced equipment globally. They are deemed to apply a very larger scope of principles. Airlines are defined as companies that are obliged to provide air travel services for freight and traveling people. They vary from a single cargo aircraft to a full time international airline which are identified to be intra-continental domestic and regional in terms of their mode of operation.
Consumer electronics
Evolution and historical background of consumer electronics
Accordingly, the economic term consumer electronics include a wide variety of products. They range from the famous mobile phones to personal computers. The most remembered inventor of consumer electronics is identified to be Thomas Edison. He invented the first electric typewriter in 1872. His patent led to the emergence of electronic substances. However, within a short period, different household substances were created to take advantage of the electric power (Dhir, 2004). Ideally, these products were already designed to use the alternating energy (AC). Within the twentieth century, different appliances and devices used in households were created or redesigned. It was done with the objective of improving them to adopt the new electrical solution that was providing to their homesteads.
According to the consumer electronic history, the phonograph is considered to be among the first consumer electronics. It was invented way long before the radio receivers were invented. However, its marketing strategy incorporated the use of mechanical application. Guglielmo Marconi invented it. In the late 1890s and twentieth century, there was an incredible improvement of radio telephony which enabled wire transmission (Hollar, 2012). In the year 1920, the operation of radio stations commenced. Radio networks were introduced in an advanced status. It is after this marvelous improvisation that the sales of the phonograph sales raised. The modern consumer electronics industry maintains the ancient basics of radio transmissions. It is because these inventions have had a background impact if the present breeds of the consumer electronic devices. Accordingly, the information age has registered an outstanding sectored improvement. For instance, a large population of the American citizens was able to posses these consumer electronics. An example of these electronics included the television sets, as well as the home theatres.
How it helps in understanding business today
Evolutional information based on the consumer electronics is very essential. That is; it enables one to comprehend and manage to analyze the current market’s nature. In addition, it creates a platform for one to comprehend the market trends and identify them easily (Hollar, 2012). These are among the major elements of business. Ideally, when considering the modern market place, information on consumer electronics provide that the number of consumers within the country averaged around 1.6 billion. These statistics meant that the annual sales exceeded eighty billion dollars.
In addition, the study of the evolution enables one to evaluate the technological suitability of consumers. That is; the prior and the present technological developments of the consumer electronics is an issue of concern. For instance, consumers are attracted towards the time shifting as well as the video software playback category of features that are incorporated within their lifestyle needs. It is a remarkable stronghold within the market structure.
Some of the market trends that are identified within the study of consumer electronics include miniaturization, digitization, and convergence. In brief terms, some of the newly advancements that have been made towards the consumer electronics are intended to improve the business nature in the present age. However, there are some analytical analyses which imply the convenience of the electronics usage. For instance, some consumers have been alleged to disappoint the mobility factor of these items (Dhir, 2004). They have been advanced towards modern and light commodities to make it easier for them to be carried. It is also intended to improve the sales volume. In addition, the electronics have gained a combined status of the operation. It has made the nature of business quite easy. Ideally, these are some of the business related lessons in the context.
Airlines
Evolution and historical background of airlines
The origin of flight was in 1903. It is after this that air travel emerged as one of the most fundamental method of transport for both goods and human beings. However, the evolution of airline carriers has been in progress for over one hundred years (Stolzer, 2008). It is one sign of the level of persistence in maintaining the market within the transport industry. According to history, air travel has not only been a means of transport, it has also been a reliable way of creating income. Businesswise, air travel, maintains the major objectives of earning profit.
In the early 20th century, airplanes were considered as risky in terms of transport. Ideally, in the year 1925, the airplanes were used to enhance the transport of airmails. It is after this that the flight regulatory instructions were given. The ideal that makes business related logic in the air travel is the risk loving attitude of human beings within the air travel industry. After ten years, commendable improvements have been established. The main aim of these improvisations is to ensure that the product is improved in terms of quality and efficiency.
How it helps in understanding business today
Business requires strategic improvements for it to survive. Due to the present level of competition, the new management has been forced to apply cost minimization measures. For instance, for increased customer age in air travel, the management has engaged in efforts to reduce fare costs. In addition, most of the airlines are striving to engage in quality service. It involves the management of safe activities. For instance, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was initiated to help in managing the safety operations (Garvey, 2002). One of the most essential economic strategies that have been evolved together with the recent development of air travel includes deregulation. For instance, in the year 1970, there was a deregulation officer who advocated for lowered fairs. This modern regulation easing has enabled the airline firm to encounter a competition free market.
Value of history and evolution of consumer electronics and airlines towards career development
Conclusively, these industries are analyzed to have gone through different phases of business development. This information forms a knowledgeable foundation for a business oriented career holder. For instance, there are some important trends and information which are only identified in such analytical studies. The presence of business related strategies has played an influential impact on the development of a career. These strategies may include the named economic strategies to reduce the cost and the market trends that the consumers of the consumer electronics face. Most of the ideas that are identified in both industries under question implicate the need for anyone within the business career to adopt them. Business as a career requires supportive information for them to comprehend some of the policies, characters, and strategies incorporated in business areas.
