Nowadays people try to find innovative sources for energy in order to provide the planet with everything necessary for its development. This way, renewable energy resources are of great value. This paper is to analyze solar power, its advantages and disadvantages along with the impact it carries to this planet.
Solar energy is the energy taken from the Sun, which is often used as electricity or heat through a photovoltaic process (“Solar Energy”). This kind of energy is renewable and can easily be used for our needs. Thermal and photovoltaic systems are used to convert solar radiation to heat or electricity using different methods. These are silicon panels, utilizing energy, solar hot water heaters or storing energy for further usage. To stud this kind of energy, different methods are used. For example, Earth Systems Engineering and Management watch the usage of solar power, but according to the ESEM principles, its projects combine technical scientific and engineering issues and efforts to change behavior (social engineering) in case of necessity (Allenby 185). They do not seek to have total control over the scientific development of using solar power, but they are able to help scientists any time.
Solar energy has both disadvantages and advantages, which are mentioned by scientists during their studies. The main dignity is its availability and purity (“Solar”). Considering solar energy is remarkably renewable, it is widely used for the public good. It is also sustainable for energy consumption and can be implemented in generating electricity and heating water (Shahan). It is simple in use, so great amounts of money can be saved on specific equipment. Solar power provides energy independence and reliability, which is important in studying this kind of energy (“5 Advantages and 5 Disadvantages of Solar Energy”).
Nevertheless, solar energy has its deficiencies. Being dependent on weather means it cannot be collected any time. In addition to that, energy storing is expensive and involves some space. The process of collecting solar energy also is associated with pollution because of the methods and materials used. They may be efficient in gathering energy, but are harmful to society or the energy itself.
