A very less number of people have got some unique treasured qualities to motivate other people who push the human existence into new horizons. Such persons have a qualitative impact on their novices who are motivated to follow them. Of course such people are known as good teachers. A good teacher is a builder of a moral society and prepares his students for better future. He introduces a child to his own self. He has the power to identify a valuable talent in a child and polishes it to a valuable asset. He has got the power to engrave anything on the mind of a young student. A teacher can make or mar the lives of the students by giving them good or bad ideas. The minds of the students are like clean slates on which anything right or wrong can be written. But a good teacher always enriches the lives of his students by directing them to rightness. Such experience directs the students for better successes and accomplishments. A teacher enhances not only the skills of a teacher but also his social and moral aptitude. In other words, a teacher affects not only a person at his child level only but, he guides him always even during his college era. He loves his work and students and possesses an infectious passion for teaching. Strictly speaking, a teacher moulds a prised life of a child and makes him or her a better human being.
It may be nice to mention a famous quote here that ‘with great power comes great responsibility.’ A good teacher knows the worth of his profession. He has an immediate influence on the lives of his students. He is more accountable for the modification of the performance of his pupil (Miller). He holds much power in terms of imparting acquaintances to the emerging prospect of the society. A good educator helps to build an understanding space that ensures betterment of a society in general.
It is also quite important to note that how (and why) a teacher is known as a good teacher. Definitely it is because of his committed responsibilities that he always follows for the welfare of his students. His qualities reflect his aim of weaving prized skills and virtuous principles in his students (Walke). He always wants his student to learn the things well and apply the acquired knowledge for the betterment of his own self and society. A good teacher has a big hand in creating an ethical society. He inculcates better ideas in the minds of his students who constitute as an important part of the society.
A good teacher imparts better education to his pupils in order to facilitate behaviour of his students. Since education is also addressed as reformation of behaviour. A good teacher enhances moral propensity in his students and takes their self-reliance to sacred levels. A good teacher always imparts virtuous edification to his followers in order to make them more responsible. Such cultivated responsibilities add more glamour to the future of the said society that comprises such students. As according to one of the influential educational specialist, Richard Via, a good teacher is always love and holds intense enthusiasm for his work and teaching.
A good teacher is a rare breed who is not very much common. His qualities depict his honesty and sincerity towards his profession and also students. However, a good teacher can be found at any stage of education. He can be present in a kindergarten, preparing a better future of a society or he can be inculcating innovative professionals in some college to shape a productive society. He positively influences every aspect of a student and enhances his nature for better expectations.
A good teacher comes to the level of his student, acts like him only, and tries to develop a podium of mutual understanding. Such gesture helps the student to come out of his cocoon to deal with the outside world. A good teacher is fervent to mould his students for good. His method of effective teaching expedites healthier environment in his classroom. Such facilitation improves better aura for disseminating knowledge and information within the framework of moral guidelines. It affects the ways students respond to the instructions, making the content more interactive and gives better results.
A good teacher is creative. For a good teacher, teaching is more than just opening a book and to go through its content (Orlando). The student can analyse it and start doing the exercises. This method of teaching seems a little bored. He uses visual aids in his presentations to make a particular topic more interesting. Visual aids in the form of charts, paintings, posters, even, animation shots of certain processes etcetera assist the proper understandings of a concept. In this way, he makes the learning process entertaining. However, so far as the college level teacher is concerned, he needs to be updated with the latest advancements in his subject. Such rationalized thinking of the teacher makes him more responsible for disseminating better and updated knowledge.
One of the most important qualities of a good teacher is his patience. He never gives up on his student no matter how much time or how much effort a teacher needs to invest. Such quality of a good teacher has shown better results in bestowing an encouragement to his students. A good teacher does not show his anger or distress to his student for his frequent mistakes and misunderstandings. He is exceptionally enduring to offer his student more opportunities.
A good teacher develops a concrete confidence in his students. He organises frequent thought-provoking tasks for his students to augment their skills. His approach is quite usual in bringing his students into an arena of exiting atmosphere. A good teacher always facilitates the quality of education by presenting a challenging task to a student. He does not present it very difficult to discourage his students (Miller).
A good teacher always bestows his students with humorous dialogues. Such outlook configures a healthy environment in the class room, making the process of learning more friendly and easy. Such quality of a good teacher wipes off the pressure and fright of the students and makes them open minded. It surely gives good results and adds better achievements and accomplishments from the student’s perspective. However, witty element needs to be applied in context to a specific cultural setting because a humorous element changes through different layers of different cultures. A particular topic may be funny for someone but, it can also be offensive to another one in context to gender, caste, and race etcetera.
A classroom comprises different people from different backgrounds and settings. Students vary from being brilliant to some who are a little bit slow to grasp the things. A good teacher always takes good care of every student. He assures his patience even towards a slow-learner student of his class. Actually such quality is much appreciated in the academic sphere of the world. It is because a teacher needs to modify himself in order to understand the requirements of such student. There is no classification of students for a good teacher in terms of their efficiency but, all are equal. But, their needs and approaches to understand certain things differ and that should be explicable to the teacher.
A good teacher is a nice listener and responsive. He remembers that every student in his class differ in their personalities. Certain students are quiet, and the teacher smilingly enters into the minds and hearts of these students. He always values their softness and creates an aura of ethical understanding of such students. The teacher respects to the answers of his students and encourages them to participate in every activity. Good teaching is respecting and admiring the sacred professionalism every time (Leblanc).
A good teacher is supportive to his students, and he always tries to nourish them with his liberal ideologies. He always acts as a good leader to promote the efficiency of his pupils. His generous carefulness reflects the maturity of his persistence and professionalism. The vision of a good teacher lies in the values of conveying knowledge both theoretically as well as practically (Miller). He ensures a positive role of presenting qualitative information to his students and extends his impact from just being a professor to an instructor and a friend. Such moral expansion intensifies the empirical aptitude of his followers.
A good teacher devotes much time to influence the minds of his students. He care and nurtures them by being there, like a best friend, for them whenever they need him. He acts as an immediate friend to which a student can share his exiting thoughts. Being a good teacher, he always has an inspiring space for his students.
Sometimes things do not work as per the teacher’s expectations. Such moment is quite awkward and can lead to a chaos in the classroom. But, a good teacher possesses a quality of flexibility that maintains a learning balance in the classroom. Such quality leads the teacher to new experimentations and teaching strategies that can be more efficient in empowering the students more effectively. These stratagems enable the students to learn the key concepts efficaciously and leads to a warm learning culture in the classroom.
A good teacher assesses his own weaknesses and tries to address them by getting evaluations from the students itself. He understands that even if a single student in his class was unable to understand the key concept, he reassesses his teaching method in order to make sure the effective propagation of the key concepts (Gabriel). He is open to accept critics and work on them. Such attitude actually makes him more efficient and better teacher. He utilizes practical criticism and recommendations as assisting elements to become an effective teacher.
One of the important factors that involve good teaching is that a good teacher always views his class as a team and paves better opportunities for enhanced debates and discussions to enrich the productivity of the team work (Walke). Such requirements are met by organizing programmes, open to all the faculties and students. It pushes the learning culture to new heights and paves better stand for quality education.
Besides such potentials, a good teacher is always helpful to his students in every respect. Not just their school lives, a good teacher has a good impact even on their personal lives. Such is the influence of a good teacher (Walke). He implements his vision with broad application and intensifies the ethical aspects of his students. He divulges faith and confidence in his pupils that establishes a sense of social individual and responsibility towards the society and nation. At last, a good teacher is always loved and praised by everyone in educational institutions, but not always. However, it always gives an invaluable pleasure when a student looks into the eyes of a teacher and exchanges a smile, and writes, in his notebook, that Mr .. is my favourite teacher. The rewards of a good teacher include the contentment of his students that reflect his hard work and accountability.
A good teacher has a great influence on the lives of the students. He always possesses a serious attitude to enhance the educational as well as personal lives of the students. His vision is to impart the better knowledge in order to enrich the students with proper understanding. His enthusiastic approach and encouragement pushes the students to new academic, research, and professional levels. He always creates a warm learning environment in his classroom. His way of dealing with the students is quite admirable and can fine tune the ethical and moral values in the students. Imparting moral and qualitative education to the students is one of the main objectives of a good educator. His robust teaching qualities are admirable and correspond to the social, political, and economical developments of the students in particular and in society in general.
