There are various implications not only to fellow employees, but also to the entire work setting that would be revealed from the selected publication that deals with bullying in the nursing industry. To start with, it affects individual performance considering that the process of bullying might take various forms such as threats, verbal and non-verbal abuse, and intimidating among many more. In addition, the work efficiency of the nurses reduces bearing in mind that they have the feeling of defenseless in the process reducing the morale to effectively work. Reduced dignity is an additional effect that the workforce at the nursing go through in case bullying takes place. With reduced dignity, the level of making mistakes increases since the confidence of such employees gets affected. Worth noting also was the fact that such acts resulted to depression and lack of sleep bearing in mind that the women workforce are more venerable to bullying. Hence, they end up resigning since the cases are rarely handled and solved from their work bringing about shortages in the industry.
The effects of bullying as well do not affect an individual as it was indicated exceedingly, but rather, it does affect the work place as well. Considering that the process results to poor service delivery to patients and other stakeholders, the health facility is bound to lose a lot of patients something that translates to fewer profits. In addition, the facility might face more legal challenges in case patients decide to sue them for poor service deliver. Moreover, The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) have the authority and mandate to sensor such health facilities or better still, recommend for its closure since it becomes a source of risk to patients as it would to the workforce.
